Default I wonder if this scene in Break up Part 1 made CBS a little nervous-lol

Tom: No need to break up over crazy George

George: Who you calling crazy Honkey?

Tom: DON"T CALL ME HONKEY!!!

George: Why you so sensitive all of a suddden?

Tom: I would you like if I called you N**GER?

George turns to Louise with a shocked look: He called me N**GER!!

That would be interesting to read. I know I am from that era, but trying to remember everything I read in TVguide would be impossible. We got the tvguide EVERY WEEK. My brother would buy it. I would highlight the shows I wanted to watch. I can't recall NEVER having a TVGuide in the house growing up.

I doubt it since it was said on AITF a few times, and plus Archie called every race out of their name, and he even said the N word a few times.

Yeah but Archie never called a black person the N-word to their face like Tom did with George

I was going to post that right now.

However, Tom didn't call George "N"...he stated how would George feel if he called him the word "N"...big difference.

I was surprised Tom got so upset when George called him worst in the past like WHITEY. I think Whitey is worst than honkey

Exactly...Also Archie called George's mother Mammy so that's close to the N word.

When it comes to name-calling, there is no better word than any derogatory word. IT'S ALL BAD.
Now, when I was young, my brother would call me honkey because I am so light-skinned...it was done in jest, not hate.

"mammy" was sooooo wrong for Archie to say PERIOD.

Well Archie was too stupid to realize was he was saying was wrong. Remember he said-"I thought All black people called their mother Mammy" Tom was FRUSTRATED and really wanted to show George how he it feels to be disrepected since he had never done so up until that point. So he was actually calling George a N***GER because he was FED UP. That's like a girl saying I'm FAT and then I say-"How would you like if I called you coyote face?-lol So just because I didn't say it directly, I still said it which is why George and louise was like-"OMG is that Tom willis talking like that?-lol

All of that name-calling over George taking it wrong when Tom said "Crazy"...that's crazy...

Besides, being stupid doesn't give anyone the license to call anyone any derogatory names. Don't give Archie any excuses. He pretended to be stupid. He would make that face like "Oh, i thought everyone did that"

No I don';t think Archie was pretending to be stupid, he really thought that all black people called their mothers mammy. He even became irritated when trying to explain why he said what he said

Because of the context it was used in, I don't think it made them nervous.
