Default I wouldn't have HIRED that woman Dale Parker for this reason

Not because she was a woman, but because when George answered the door, instead of Dale saying "I'm here to be interviewed for the Manager position", she says-"You can make me your new manager" She was a little too agressive IMO Also Louise had no reason getting involved in who George should hire to manage HIS STORE

To me it showed she was confident and was up for the job. She would have scored with me with that attitude. George was such a pig, he was finding ways not to hire her, in her presence, and she was aware of it. I would have walked out on him too. I liked that line she delivered to him, "Just remember, some of your brothers are sisters, too."

Blacks as a race have been through so much to let this happen to each other. George didn't have to act like that.

I so agree with you. There is confidence and there is arrogance. She had confidence. George's attitude abt not wanting to hire her showed to me he had reasons that could be interpreted as illegal. I had been asked by employers at interviews, "Why should I hire you?" I went into reasons and said so with confidence. These employers always told me how that influenced them, not to mention other reasons such as my education and resume.

George wasn't supposed to be so obvious about not wanting to hire her-lol All he had to do was say to her-"Ok I will be making a decision in the next couple of days and you will be notified"

BTW: I still think Louise was not supposed to be in the living room when he was interviewing her for the job

He wasn't supposed to be, but he was. He did the same thing in the episode abt not wanting to go to Harlem. He was not very good at lying...he was just too obvious.

Part of the reason was because Louise wasn't supposed to have her ass in the living during the interview which is why he was doing a lot of moon walking-lol

You really want someone to talk abt Louise being in the living room don't you?

Whether she was in the living room or not, he still would have behaved that way...especially in the Harlem episode, because HE JUST DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO THAT BASEMENT, and he didn't know how to get out of it, especially after ASSUMING he was speaking at a college.

What Dale said was still wrong-lol You said-"I think I'm the most qualified for this position because......" Not "YOU CAN MAKE ME YOUR NEW MANAGER" without explanation

What is worse in my eyes, is going to your employers home...you don't do that at their house. Of course, we saw it this way because at this point of the series, we only really saw all the interaction at their apartment.

What George should have said was, I will speak with you at my office or at the cleaners, I don't conduct business here at home.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, BUT the cleaning business was Louise's business too. Just because she wasn't hands on with the business then doesn't mean it wasn't hers and she didn't have a say so about anything. They were partners with the cleaning business. When George first started his business she worked right along with him, she worked with him up until they moved into the apartment building. So Louise had every right to be in the Livingroom.

It was their business. If could have asked Louise, "What do you think of this person?" and handed her their application/resume. I get asked my opinion A LOT by my boyfriend when he has dealings with roofing/construction customers and so forth. He values my opinion. And I am sure George did the same thing with Louise, we just never saw it on camera. That may be how it is in YOUR WORLD Solomon, doesn't mean that's the way IT IS.

BOTTOM LINE: you don't go to your employer's home...You conduct business at the BUSINESS, unless George wanted to deal with business at home.

Well If it's my store she would not be involved in any hiring decisions. I don't think they were 50/50 in the Cleaning business was they?
