Hi! I have an episode question about "Love Me, Love My
Skipper." There is a scene in which everyone is supposedly discussing how to reunite the Howells. It opens with the men (Gilligan is seated on the table) and they are later joined by the women. In this scene, MaryAnn seems more preoccupied initially with something regarding herself. She enters the scene looking upset and the men look at her curiously (with either anxiety or concern in each case). The Skipper asks her is she feels alright even though there is nothing earlier in the episode to suggest that she has been ill or injured. She replies that she is OK, but again, with a sigh and upset look--one would think that MaryAnn, given her characteristic responses would be more "chipper" and reassuring if she was actually fine and also that she would be more energetic about the Howells. Her own comment about the Howells seems to be a shift in discussion from the focus on her previous problem. We are not told what the problem is but I was wondering what your thoughts were on this. Thanks! |
