How come Mother Jefferson didn't move in with George? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I never understood that. She was basically elderly, and she lived on the other side of town. George had lots of money and lots of room, you would think he would have moved his mother in with him.

He wanted to be HAPPY. And knowing how she got on his nerves and on Louise's back abt stupid stuff, it was best she was on her own. Mother Jefferson probably liked it on her own anyways.

If the Mother Jefferson character had moved in with George, I would have stopped watching the show
