The $250 in "Junior gets a Patron" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I think the ending is strange to this epp unless TV Land is leaving something out. The guy owed James $250 and all he says to him is "he's sorry" and James is OK with that? The Patron was well-off and could see how much James needed the money, so why the hell didn't he say, "Here's the $250 I owe you". If I was James, I would've said, "OK, you're sorry, that's nice, but where's my money mo fo?" LOL

I got the DVD, and - yeah, James is "OK with that".

Now, I didn't see the TVLand version. After the guy said "I'm Sorry", James said "How do you answer 'I'm Sorry'?", and Florida said "You don't answer it, you accept it." Then James pretty-much says OK.

I think it was weird to have James be angry at him for that after so many years and to allow that to affect his son. Unless, James thought the man would somehow take advantage of JJ the same way the man took advantage of James and not paying him back.

I think James was still angry and he felt like JJ was going over to the enemy and taking the enemies side.

I know! I was wondering the same thing watching this episode. After all, the guy was rich now, so I wonder why he just didn't give James $250 to make up for his mistake way back when.

You get paid while in the Army, just like a pay check. So that's prob where he got the money from.

Good answer. I will accept that.

That man certainly owed James the money. Maybe his thinking was that he would pay James back by giving J.J. the right choices in the art field and by being his patron, he can get J.J. in the right doors. That would be worth more than $250.
