Those are two episodes that I just watched yesterday. I've also watched
George Finds a Father
George, Who?
Louise's Convention
Louise's Reunion

and I will be watching Louise's Award tonight. Every episode I've seen so far I've enjoyed thoroughly. This was a really good season, and I can't pick just one!

I like "The Freeze-In" really well. I still do not know if I can call that the best one of the season though. I will tell you my favorite when I am done watching them all.

"Louise's Sister" is my personal favorite from Season 5. When George and Louise go into the kitchen and Louise turns around, I knew EXACTLY what she was going to say from watching this episode many, many, many years ago and even said out loud "Love her? George, I can't STAND her!"

The actress that played Louise's sister was outstanding. Her voice was unique. Unfortunately, I can't recall ever seeing her in anything else.

I know I enjoyed season 5 on DVD a lot more than I enjoyed season 6. Very Disappointed with Season 6

I was intrigued enough to do some web searching on Josephine Premice, who played Maxine in "Louise's Sister." She died in 2001, at 75, and had a reputation as one of the great Calypso singers of all time; she was THE most famous Calypso singer in the 1940s and 1950s. Born in Haiti; her original life ambition was to be an anthropologist. Later in life, she began acting in TV sitcoms.

She also played in a few episodes of A Different World as Dwayne and Whitley's landlady. The fellow who played her son (Louise's nephew) was Justin Lord who was also in an episode of Good Times (JJ's Condition) and played a continuing role in the cable series Stella. Too bad they never showed either character in another Jeffersons' episode. The son should've come back for some appearances to fill the void when Mike Evans was no longer on the show- a younger character would've helped this show in the 80s. I agree that Louise's Sister is the best show in year 5. George Finds A Father and the one where George donates his kidney were also good examples of how they could do rather serious topics in an entertaining way. I'm surprised how good year 5 was considering I liked the Lionel character and he wasn't in it that year and I really never liked Jay Hammer in this show.

Jay Hammer wasn't too bad in the prsesence of Sherman Hemsley. He was AWFUL when around his parents

Yes, Jay Hammer did have good chemistry with Sherman Hemsley. Their scenes together were always a lot of fun. The "Half A Brother" episode was a riot.
