going by how they cheered when he was at the door. I think it's because he was the only character on the show that brought the BEST out of the George Jefferson character. No other character on the show was able to do that

Mr. Bentley was a good character. Very likeable.

He was almost like the Jeffersons' Kramer.
Popping in and asking for things and giving his certain spin on life.

A little strange but much more down to earth.

I just can imagine how George would have been acting if Bentley was anything like Kramer-lol
