James Noble's wife appeared on "Benson" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

If you weren't aware, she appears in the episode "The Honeymooners" as the judge at the end of the episode who grants the annulment of Benson and Kraus' proxy wedding. Her name in real life is Carolyn Coates.

I am trying to figure out if she is also the same woman in "Made in Hong Kong" (Part 1) who sells the plate to Benson and the Governor. It looks like the same woman....I'll have to go back and watch that episode again and see if her name comes up in the credits.

This was just an interesting FYI for those of you who may not have been aware.

That's so cool, I had no idea. Reminds me of the final episode of Sledge Hammer! when Hammer's "ex-wife" is played by his "actual" wife at the time (and still). I love it when they do that sort of thing.

I think 2--the one mentioned here and "Made in Hong Kong" Part 1. She is the woman who sells Benson and the Governor the souvenir plate.

I never knew that she appeared in the series. Mrs. Noble has since passed on in real life, if I'm not mistaken. She and her husband were married for many years - we should all aspire to have marriages as long and as happy as theirs.
