here's an idea...

DON'T DO IT

you'll get bulemia and your life will be ruined, or at least, for the next few years to come. if you want to lose weight, eat healthier and exerise more, dont go sticking your fingers down you're throat, that's more unhealthy then being a few pounds overweight.

Please don't resort to name-calling. He is just caring about your decision. I didn't see any flaming on his behalf.

I wanted to also comment that I have been noticing a developing pattern in your posts. Making yourself vomit is endangering your body. You lose proteins and minerals, and it takes a lot of hormones (can't remember which ones) in doing so. It causes stress on your own body. I think we all care about you and your decisions, as a stranger. Please, talk with someone: a counsellor, an adult you trust, etc. Don't do anything harmful against yourself. Talking does help. We all would like to see you have a life ahead of you.

Yes, you can and will develop bulimia with those actions and attitude.

BUT honestly, how long is this charade of yours going to last? What attention-seeking thread are you going to undertake next? Sometimes people do need help and it's courageous for one to admit that, but you seem to be making a game out of it to garner attention.

I can see it now. ~Next week in the life of Tootie, the adventures of being a cutter.

Tootie, I've only been back on this board for a few weeks (after a prolonged absence). Since that time, I've read most of the threads you've started on Chit Chat, and they all seem like nothing more than desperate and/or bored attempts to seek attention.

Your threads seem more like cries for attention than help.

If you really need help, then I'm truly sorry for posting this. But if it is, in fact, help you need, I recommend you seek it via a different route than a message board. Try and talk to a professional, like a school counselor or a pastor. If all of these threads you posted are, indeed, true, you're a very troubled young girl, and you're beyond help any message board can give you.

If all you're doing is seeking attention (which, sorry, but I sincerely believe is the case), please stop. There are people with real problems, and things like suicide, eating disorders; etc. are amongst them. It's beyond cool to make scenarios like that up for yourself because you crave attention or sympathy from people on a message board. Crying wolf like that not only decreases any credibility you have; it also trivializes and underplays the very serious real-life problems that depression (both diagnosed and undiagnosed) can cause its victims.

Just some food for thought.

The real question is why do you ask for help regarding suicide and then expect us to really tell you how to throw up???????

YOU NEED HELP AND STOP LOOKING FOR IT HERE. YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER AND SEEK HELP FROM A PROFESSIONAL. Can I make a suggestion? CLOSE THIS THREAD.

What could happen if bulimia goes untreated?

Bulimia can cause serious health problems, ranging from esophagus and tooth damage (from vomiting) to kidney and heart problems, dehydration, and an overall loss of energy.

In rare cases, bulimia can cause the stomach or esophagus to rupture, which in turn can cause hemorrhaging and death. Fluid and electrolyte imbalances caused by purging can lead to an irregular heartbeat, which in turn can lead to a heart attack.

The mortality rate for eating disorders, including anorexia, may be as high as 20 percent, taking into account deaths from related heart and intestinal damage and suicide.

Tootie, if you're really serious about wanting to make yourself throw up, then I concur with what the others have said - DO NOT DO IT!

What Joe said is absolutely right - you can get bulimia. And as Irene has said, this is a very dangerous illness.

DO NOT make yourself sick. If you want to lose weight, eat healthily and exercise.

It might be better if you sought out some kind of professional help too.

Excellent post.

Tootie I don't know if you are doing this for attention or not. If it is true then I've been where you're at and you do need to seek help. You said you were admitted to a hospital a few weeks ago. Was that a lie? If you were then your parents should be aware of your suicidal tendacies and you should talk to them or seek some more professional help. Suicide is not a topic that should be joked about. Their's nothing funny about it.
