Mother Jefferson was the one who called her without telling George because she wanted her to see how well George was doing since she dumped and maybe they would have hooked up. Mother Jefferson stated that she was much nicer than louise and that she knew how much George wanted her but she dumped him. I will admit that It was foolish to call someone who dumped him but I guess she just felt that Louise wasn't as cute as that woman and that's why she always attacked louise. Again Irene, I'm just analyzing the situation as it was presented to us on the show, this is not my opinion I'm just speculating why mother Jefferson was not to happy that George married Louise. She even told the woman on the phone-"George is still married to Louise"

As you can see after having watched the episode, the lady dumped George...Mother Jefferson was hoping that the lady would see George in a different light and therefore, somehow Louise would be out of the picture. AH MOTHER JEFFERSON, what a crazy old lady.

What a nasty, old, mean bat! She was always dissing poor Louise. Man, it has been awhile since I watched Jeffersons...isn't there an episode when Mother Jefferson finally realizes that Louise is the best lady for George? I seem to recall something like that.

Either way, whatever her reasons were, MOTHER JEFFERSON WAS A MEAN OLD BAT WHO WANTED LOUISE OUT OF THE PICTURE...as for her thinking Louise is not cute or pretty, is Solomon's view...I don't have a view on what her reason may be. Maybe Mother Jefferson thought Louise was mean to her or had been rude in some way and never liked her since.

When anyone compares the woman to louise it's kind of hard not to say that Mother Jefferson didn;t like her because she wasn't as pretty as the other. Remember she probably just wanted the best girl possible for her son and felt that Louise wasn't as cute. Now i'm not saying Louise was a monster but when you compare the two they are so different physically that you can;t help but think that it was the physical reason

It had nothing to do with looks. Or else, why would she accuse Louise of being spoiled and/or thinking of $$$ when it came down to getting a maid. Mother Jefferson accused Louise of wanting a maid when it was George who wanted one, not Louise. As soon as Mother jefferson found out it was George who was wanting the maid, she all of a sudden changed her mind. |
