I just want to let all those considering going college the notice that not only do you need to save for your tuition, but for your books also. Yesterday I spent a total of $518.55 on books for six classes. My friend offered to give me the 55 cents to help offset the cost. Helps a little bit, but not much!!

Yeah, they're really expensive. My mom and sister are both taking a computer course at a college. The book was considrably cheap, at only $65, which is, actually, cheap for a college book. My mom knew someone who had taken the class already so she just borrowed the book. My sister had to buy hers.

There's plenty of things that happen to her that could make her bitter. But she always thinks tomorrow's going to be beautiful. And someday it will be." - Gwen Verdon "The advertisements for the show say 'Gwen Verdon as Sweet Charity.' Note that as 'as.' Not 'starring in' or just plain 'in' or even 'in the new musical,' but 'as.' She is that girl. She is Sweet Charity and forever will be." - Charles Burr |

The best part is at the end of the semester when they offer you like $30 to buy back all those books. That's why I kept 95% of my books from college.

I just spent over $500 on books too. Ahhhh! That's the most I've ever had to spend. I was not prepared for that. It sucks because, like coily said, I won't get anything for them when I try to sell them back. I once bought a book for $120 and the bookstore was going to give me $25 for it. I laughed at them, but now I still have that book and I haven't needed it since. I just refuse to give it to them for almost nothing.
Just had to vent - even though it won't make me any less broke.
