Default Family Matters is so racist against whites

I seem to be the only one that ever noticed but this show is extremely racist towards white people. I was a little guy when the show was on and so I watched it and liked it but when I got older I looked back and thought about how ridiculously racist this show was. EVERY bad person was WHITE. Seriously...lol....for example, and this is off the top of my head without having seen the show in years...

-Lt Murtaw, possibly the biggest moron ever, WHITE

-the hustler in the pool hall who's all mean and his thug friends, WHITE

-Mom's bakery and the illegal casino, the bakery owner mom and ALL the casino workers and the whole thing, WHITE

-Rodney, mean and stupid, WHITE

-Laura's rival, the extreme bitch and slut in school, WHITE

-the guys who spray sleeping gas into the Winslow's house when fat Karl is napping and then they rob him, WHITE

-the guy who tries to shoot fat Karl in the hospital after he gets shot in the ass, WHITE

-at the male strip club, Clubb Buff, suggesting whites are promiscuous, ALL WHITE

-the crazy scientist dude that framed Urkel, WHITE

-I forget the plot but remember the one where, at the end, there is a drive for people to turn their guns in in exchange for a toy or something, guess who the first (and only one we see) to turn his gun in was? yep WHITE

-the bank robber dressed as Abraham Lincoln who held Urkel and company hostage, take a wild guess.....WHITE

-on the stakeout when WHITE moron Lt Murtaw and fat Karl are waiting for the criminals to receive their shipment or whatever, the criminals were....WHITE

-the guys in the locker who were mean to eddie cause he got no play....WHITE

there is probably much more but I can't remember as it's been years, however I think I gave quite a few strong examples. And don't try and tell me that there were an equal amount of bad blacks, in fact there was very little, almost every negative person in this show was white...on a black sitcom that takes place in downtown Chicago. LOL. And don't point out Waldo as being equal. That's ONE character. I just named numerous plots/characters that centered around bad/immoral/ugly/mean/etc whites.

can anybody else think of any more times in the series where the racist producers of this filth cast whites in a negative light?

I agree with that to an extent. I was entertained by the show though.

Hmmm, very interesting points. I haven't seen enough of this show myself to make that determination, but the stuff you mentioned is eye opening.

I never thought it was racist and I'm white. I just thought it was funny.

I don't think that it is racist. It is one of my favorite shows. I am white. There is one episode where Eddie is driving and a cop pulls him over because he is a white neighborhood. That is racist against blacks.

Not really. It is portraying whites as being racist against blacks.
But this thread may cause a fight.
I agree with the creator of this thread to an EXTENT, but I liked the show a lot as I found it entertaining.

ROFL! Thanks classicshowgurl, you helped further my point as Wawwie stated....oh so Eddie is driving in a "white" neighborhood eh? How odd the creators of this show decided on having him get pulled over by racist WHITE cops....what surprise!

I thought of something else....remember when the winslow's go to France? LOL the ONLY people in France, in Family Matters land, are Black! HAHAHAHA. Yep no whites or any other ethnicity live in France, non at all!

there won't be any fight because this can't be argued, the proof is in the pudding...and to be fair and so nobobdy else does it first, I'll point out the negative black people that I can think of off the top of my head.

-Waldo is stupid

-I can't remember his name but Eddie's friend who talks with a lisp is obnoxious

-the cousin of eddie is a thug, when they steal the car, but this had to be a black person because there wouldn't be any realistic way to have eddie's white cousin visit. And keep in mind they had to have the ****** Lt Murtaw in that show to offset the black thug, Lt Murtaw and his stupid comments...

that's about all I can think of, see any discrepancy there? LOL. This show couldn't be more racist.

I thought of another one....

-the episode where karl was undercover, the house was dirty, etc, and eddie was doing lousy in a class and told the teacher he had family problems, the teacher was weak, naive, gullible, and not too bright....WHITE

Not ANOTHER white person bitching about racism towards whites, esp. a damn T.V show. . I find this funny as hell considering that majority of FM's writers were WHITE!!!!!

I guess I can call that annoying show Friends racist because it's NYC and there are no BLACKS. Can I call Facts of Life, Punky Brewster, and Small Wonder racist because there is only ONE black best friend?

I have to agree with you on this. Don't get me started on how just about all the TV shows back in the 50' that had a black person appear in it was racist against blacks.

BTW Family Matter had a lot of bad black people in it also. So SiberianKiss You should dig deeper and do more homework.

You must not have a life to point all of this crap out. Why does a thug have to be black? I guess Jimmy Hoffa and the Gottis don't count huh? Turn off the T.V and read a book.

I think you're just grasping at straws . There was nothing racist about this show. The Winslows were a family that appealed to every race.

Thank you, this poster MUST be under 17....

I could write a BOOK on all the shows that had negative African-Americans. I Love Lucy had ZERO blacks, I don't hear this kid complaining about it. Siberian sounds nutty . My god, it's so hilarious that now WHITES are bitching about racism.

Next thing you'll know this poster will bitch about The Cosby Show(a upper class BLACK family) and A Different World(for being a black college)and Martin(for showing Shawn, the dumb white guy).

haha you morons....why are you bringing up other television programs? What do they have to do with Family Matters being racist towards White people? By bringing up these other shows that may or may not be racist, all you're implying is that it's okay for FM to be racist because those shows are. Try and stay on subject. As for a show like Friends, it was a white sitcom, it didn't have any people of color because it was about 7 white folks or whatever, it's not like FM where when there was somebody negative (stupid, criminal, etc) they had a black person on the show. That would be what FM does towards whites. Nevermind that though, those shows have nothing to do with FM. Your comment suggest that you think it's okay for FM to be racist because of other shows in the past. I never once said there wasn't racism towards blacks in television.

hey think pink you stupid little girl, what was 1985 your birth year? And you're writing about age? LOL. Your comment...

Why does a thug have to be black?

way to miss the entire point of what I'm trying to say! I've used many different examples, not just one you fool. No thugs don't need to be black, that is one part of a whole group. More of your drivel...

I find this funny as hell considering that majority of FM's writers were WHITE!!!!!

yeah that's great stupid, too bad the writers have NOTHING to do with casting.

moving along

I could write a BOOK on all the shows that had negative African-Americans. I Love Lucy had ZERO blacks, I don't hear this kid complaining about it. Siberian sounds nutty . My god, it's so hilarious that now WHITES are bitching about racism.

You're pathetic, DID I EVER SAY THERE WASN'T ANY RACISM TOWARDS BLACKS IN TELEVISION???? NO! Like I said before, all you're implying is that previous racism makes it okay for FM to turn the tables. Dumb ASS!

Brieannas21 your comment...

BTW Family Matter had a lot of bad black people in it also

Oh really? I think I've made a compelling argument, if you're so sure about this, I challenge you to prove me wrong.

oh? That's odd, how come there were never any Asian, Middle Eastern, Native American, etc on the show? Why were all the immoral, stupid, criminal, and mean people on the show WHITE?

answer me those questions and your post might have some merit.
