Default Okay, Now - What Do You Think of the Finale?

It's now August. I don't know, maybe your opinion on the Finale has changed since time has passed.

How do you feel with them going from "That '70s Finale" to "That '70s Pilot" in syndication?

I'm still a little confused over what's gonna happen to the characters. Such as, did Eric stay? Did Donna stay? If Eric stayed, where's he sleep (remember his room was turned into Kitty's sewing room)? And other stuff.

I think it was sort of implied that Eric and Donna were getting back together, but yeah. They didn't clarify whether Donna was going to leave Eric when she went to college, or if he was going with her or any of that. I guess the episode was done like that so people can speculate and draw their own conclusions. Who knows?

I think this episode was decent. I mean, it could have been a lot worse. The entire group was back together for atleast that last scene, so I'm relatively happy. And their was little or no Randy, so that's a plus. I especially loved that they played 'Thirteen' by Big Star at the end along with the Eric and Donna clips, because I am a huge Big Star junkie. And that Hyde mentioned the car that runs on water, that was perfect. So yeah, overall this was probably my favorite episode of the last season.

One thing that I didn't like about Eric returning was that he said leaving was a mistake. It was sort of implied that he was staying. So does that mean Eric still wants to become a teacher? Since their time is different from ours, was that supposed to be a full year or did he leave his Africa trip early?

I'd hate to think that Donna would give up college again for Eric. So let's assume she goes to college. This time, maybe Eric could move closer to her and just get a regular job for now. Hyde still runs the record store, along with Leo and Randy. Red and Kitty are staying put, enjoying his retirement. Bob is moving to Florida. Kelso is still living in Chicago. Fez and Jackie are a couple, which at the time, I was fine with. But now, that I'm watching the reruns it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I like closure in a finale. Not so much as to where they tell us how and when all the characters die, but just for the storylines that the show has given us. Answers to all the questions I've asked. And I like those goodbye scenes between the characters, which we didn't get from this finale, because no one was leaving then. They were just celebrating New Years and the changes were coming up.

Either way, I still feel sorry for the gang. Because now they have to live through - THE 80S!!!!! May God have mercy on them.

oh, so that episode WAS the finale of the series!

OK; I THOUGHT so.

I just started watching it over the summer through the reruns on FX and I've only seen the original episodes on FOX 3 times.

It's funny - I just watched the series finale, again (for the 5th time), this morning. I just can't bring myself to delete it from my DVR.

I thought it was the strongest episode of the 8th season and a very fitting end to the show.

I've finally watched the finale in its entirety today. I can't say I'm 100% happy with the way such an awesome show ended, but I am not really unhappy either. It was decent. I really liked how they ended it with the New Years Eve party (I was hoping a long time ago that they would end it that way), and how Hyde mentioned the car that ran on water (a joke from the first episode). I thought that was clever I wish Red could've had more funny 'foot-in-ass' lines, but they were ok

The whole lack of closure thing can be seen as good or bad. I kinda liked the fact that we could speculate as to whether or not Eric and Donna ended up a couple (I am hoping they did, as long as Donna didn't have to give up college again). I can picture Eric getting a teaching job while Donna goes to college, then they get married upon her graduating/getting a career I am not sure how long Fez and Jackie would've lasted, but they seemed like a cute enough couple. Odd, but cute I can definitely picture Hyde staying at the record store, perhaps meeting his own chick a few years down the line. Kelso will continue to work and live in Chicago near his daughter, perhaps marrying Brooke after he's proved to her he can be mature.

Overall, the finale was ok. I still say that this show had the best ever pilot of any show I've ever seen, and that's hard to say with most sitcoms (who take a long time to get warmed up). This show also had a good, long run of awesome episodes. I can count on one hand how many episodes I disliked, and even those episodes had their own charm. That 70's Show will continue to be one of my very favorite shows ever

It's like you have to make up what happened in your own head. I think it ended sad.
