Default Best Sidekick ? Trade Info and Poll

OKay..most shows have a side kick.

Lucy had Ethel

Batman had Robin

Bert had ernie

Shows and movies, pretty muhc always give you a sidekick

Even Meyers got Mini Me!

So in time, of movies and tv what is a show you loved and traded for because you liked the sidekick thing they had going...

Default duos

Somehow I knew you would say that Gilligan lol

There weren't nearly enough options on the poll, but sometimes the sidekicks made things more fun - the interaction the did- was better than the main stars acting.

I don't think Lucy would have been lucy without ethel
or of course cagney without lacey

the duo is what made the show

In my opinion, Barney was the best sidekick in TV history...the show wasn't nearly as good once he left.

I voted for Barney "Nip-it!" Fife, but I would also like to mention:

McHale & Ensign Parker (Tim Conway was a classic!)
Dick Loudon & George Utley (Tom Poston is great in anything!)
Chico & The Man (Jack Albertson, probably the best actor ever on a sitcom)

and...

John Steed & Emma Peel (not sure who was the sidekick, but I'll say Emma because she did most of the kicking)

norton was the best

i never liked jackie a lick, but old norton was the bomb

a close second was beavis

he gave me the greatest moment in tv history

butthead is on the toilet

beavis yells out that there was a naked chick on a video

butthead runs out quick and is mad as heck, since there wasnt a naked chick at all

beavis goes,

I BET YOU FORGOT TO WIPE

a true classic epic monent in tv history

I agree. Knotts did the show for 5 years and each year won the award for best supporting actor in a comedy. Never done before or since.

Second would have to be Art Carney, also a classic actor, Shame they don't make them like that any more.

Yep. It was Orson Welles who first called him "The Great One".
