.....once in a while instead of the Hulk. I know if he didn't, he wouldn't turn into the Hulk. I was watching episode, "The Hulk Breaks into Las Vegas" last night. I was pissed at David, because he ran away, and got caught and beat up by that middle age fellow. He could have whooped him. I guess David was so wimpy, he couldn't beat nobody.

I never really thought of David as a wimp. I think he just avoided fighting anyone cause if he got angry, he would turn into the Hulk and all hell would break loose and then McGee and the cops would be after him and he'd have to hide out in another town. And most of the time he was outnumbered. I know he kicked someones ass once though as David in "Dark Side".

"Dark Side" (original airdate: Dec. 5, 1980) was the fourth episode from the
fourth season. Banner took a serum that was supposed to cure him; instead, it caused an evil split-personality. (Source: "MY INCREDIBLE LIFE AS THE HULK," by Lou Ferrigno (2003)) |

David was more the intellectual fighter. Guy could have outsmarted anyone in a fight. Unfortunately that's not as dramatic.

Speaking of outsmarting his adversary reminds me of the episode "The Snare,"
in which a wealthy big-game hunter (Bradford Dillman) chose Banner as his next prey. Outstanding episode. |

Yeah, I never thought of him as being a wimp either. He always tried to talk things out and remain calm, unlike the guys who were bent on fighting with him. They were so aggressive compared to him and although it would've been nice to see David kick some ass, I admired him for choosing not to.
Wait a second, he did kick ass in Dark Side - one of my favorite episodes! The father and the boyfriend of his daughter saw a whole other side to him.
