Default Cybill wants to do a Moonlighting Reunion movie

I thought I would give Cybill her due!

SHEPHERD CONFIRMS MOONLIGHTING REUNION

CYBILL SHEPHERD has confirmed she is set to reunite with BRUCE WILLIS for a movie adaptation of hit 1980s TV show MOONLIGHTING. The actress and Willis have been discussing a return to their characters, MADELYN 'MADDIE' HAYES and detective DAVID ADDISON JR respectively, with the programme's creator GLENN CARRON, and work on a new script is already underway. She says, "When I spoke to Glenn Carron recently, he said he'd love to do some kind of reunion, and he's figuring out a way to do it that won't be corny. Watch this space." Willis recently revealed he'd be prepared to return to the role that made him a superstar, saying, "No one's writing those kind of comedy roles any more. It's so hard to invent a character like David Addison. "When I read the Moonlighting script, I said, 'I know this guy. I know how this guy thinks.' "I'm shown many more scripts for action films, thrillers and scary movies than comedies. "There just aren't people up for the challenge of writing characters and material that's funny."

I don't know if it's true or not, but in my heart, I want it to be true.

...and what makes you think Cybill and Bruce wouldn't start fighting AGAIN over the least mundane thing, if they DID start filming a "MOONLIGHTING" reunion movie? I'd think the last thing they'd want to do is to appear opposite each other again! The days of "Maddie & David" are over....aren't they?

Hi TvKnowledgefan
Your`e very brave coming up with a thread like this but i like a good debate so here goes...
I think that the reasons for their infamous fighting was because of the extreme pressure that both of them were under at the the time. Anyone who knows the history of the show should understand this. I mean Bruce and Cybill were working up to 80 hours a week and having to learn hundreds of pages of dialogue which alot of the time didn`t get to them untill the last minute plus they were in practically every scene together so yeah ofcourse they bit each others heads off once and and while!.
If i recall both Cybill and bruce are on record saying that working together was like a marriage ( abeit an arranged one) So there were times when they probably hated the sight of each other.
But it has been a long time and like the old proverb says `time heals all wounds`
Everyone involved ( including Glenn ) are older and wiser , Bruce doesn`t have to prove to any one that he is a fantastic actor because he already has!. Cybill has also proved herself as well ,both in front of the camera and behind the camera too.
Besides if and when this Moonlighting reunion is ever born it would be in much different circumstances , for starters there wouldn`t be that immence pressure to meet the air deadline or having to prepare for next weeks episode.
But hey if Bruce and Cybill never fought then they wouldn`t be Bruce and Cybill !

I do wonder whether the magic of the show was partially down to this immense pressure, as well as the chemistry between Bruce and Cybill during that time in their lives. I am concerned that if everyone was all relaxed and calm in any new show or film, it may not actually work!!

Just an opnion tho!

I certainly hope there would be some banter between them, both on and off screen if a reunion movie would come up. The pressure of meeting air dates would be off but there would be new pressure of trying to revive the magic that is/was ml. I'm positive I'd appreciate anything those two would do more than I like watching Lunar Eclipse now anyway.
