Smile Food Fight

I heard that one of the later episodes of The Hogan family had a massive food fight scene. Is this true (if so, wish I'd seen it)... and who got hit with what?!!

There was one where Sandy came on--her first episode actually. Mark and Willie were involved while Dave tried to unsuccessfully break it up. It was very funny. David was trying to act like he could take care of everything but Sandy wanted to help out--and by the way, she was the one who broke up the fight. Other than that, I don't remember any others. It's been so long since it's been on I forget.

Ah - I'd heard it was one of the much later episodes which we didn't get in the UK; a dinner party sort of set-up.
I thought the Willy/Mark slapstick moments were always very good - with Mark *always* seeming to get the brunt of it, which worked perfectly as it was his come-uppance for being such a smart arse and clever dick!
In the chimney ep where Mark gets a face-full of soot after pompously pushing Willy aside, his slow burn glare at Willy was one of the funniest moments of the show, I thought. I recall another where he insisted he could fix a sink, but David turned on the taps while he was doing it. Drenched Mark gave the slow burn glare again ...
He had great comic timing for that sort of thing ... Mind you, those might be the only two incidents!

Cool

Oh hearing that stuff is salt in the wounds to me. lol... I haven't watched the show in nearly 12 yrs. and I can barely remember the food fight scene. I thought it was much later, but the memory fades and you lose track of time. =) I do however remember when the fight was stopped they couldn't stand up in the mess that was on the floor, it seems they slipped and stumbled around a bit.

Welcome to the board Mark,
Danielle

Thanks, Danielle - your JL webpage is very good. Maybe you'll get a chance to ask him one day whether or not he minded being on the receiving end of all the soot and water, etc.!
(Strange how the dafter moments stick in my mind more than the serious issues handled on the show... )

Talking

hahaha.. good question! I agree though that sometimes the fun times are more memorable. I myself don't remember the serious episodes, it could be because I was only around 7 at the peak of my Hogan years. Dunno.

This episode was Movin' On. It was the show that introduced Aunt sandy. I've got that on tape from it's original NBC airing, September 15, 1987.

Ah, I will have seen that one then - I'd somehow heard that in one of the much later episodes there was a massive food fight and I thought I hadn't seen it. I'm interested in the last 35 episodes or so because here in the UK they were never shown at all.
Did you manage to tape many episodes? How great to have a VCR in the Eighties (of course, some people had them in the Sixties and Seventies!)My family had one circa '87 but a Betamax so we can't really watch anything recorded on it - and I'm sure there's a couple of Hogans recorded back then!
