Default Some info season 6-7 dvd releases

This info comes from a 'so-called' insider, I don't know how accurate it is:

'Season 6 will be release on DVD October 2006. Season 7 will be released on DVD in X-Mas/New year and The Golden Palace will be release on DVD in April/May 2007.'

cheers,

J

Thanks for the 411... the last I'd heard, Disney hadn't set any release dates for additional seasons, so this is good news!

No offense, but if you have something from an "insider," then the information should have a good foundation.

It always frustrates me to see these kinds of posts - "so-called" insiders telling information. A lot of times it's just some idiot who hopes something will happen, and convinces people that his hopes are real.

I won't trust it until I hear from TVShowsOnDVD or Buena Vista.

Well, who told you? Someone at BV? Betty White? I don't mean a name, but how does your "insider" know this stuff?

I thought BVHE had already announced everything on their October lineup of DVDS. If the Golden Girls Season 6 DVD was coming out in October, wouldn't it have already been announced like Scrubs?

Cool

I don't think Season 6 will be coming out this October. I'm starting to think December or early 2007. Hopefully Buena Vista will release some info soon.

What *might* be holding up the DVDs is more commentaries. Perhaps all 3 girls have agreed to do more commentaries (either separately or together) and the scheduling for that is being ironed out. I don't know if that's an issue or not, but it could be...

I was thinking the same thing Edster2973. Maybe they are doing more commentaries, interviews, and maybe even bloopers! If that is the case then I will wait longer for better Bonus Features. Hopefully that is the case, but hopefully Buena Vista could at least tell a month on when it may come out.

I hope so! To be honest though with the rubbish bonus features we've had in the past I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Well, they did have commentary from the ladies on Season 5, which I would hesitate to call rubbish, but I see your point. Still, I think that the fact that commentary was included on Season 5 indicates that the show is a healthy seller. Most shows sales decline as the seasons get up there, and if that was the case, why would Buena Vista go through the trouble of doing commentaries? Even if Bea, Betty & Rue agree to do it for free, it's still an expense on Buena Vista's part. Someone has to record it, edit, and so forth.

I think that the sets have been selling well, more than was even expected given that the show is still seen frequently on Lifetime. With that in mind, I think it's plausible to assume that the features will continue to improve. Maybe I'm being naive and I'm ready to accept that I could be wrong, but it just seems to be odd that Season 5 would include commentary and not the proceeding seasons. So I'm banking that we'll continue to get more on Seasons 6 & 7, providing the ladies are able to contribute (just because they're no longer in the spotlight doesn't mean they're not busy; they do have to fly out to where the recording is to do the commentaries).

Nothing to do but wait and see, no?

Ed

Everyone seems to be forgetting that the past two November releases (Seasons 1 and 3) for The Golden Girls have first been publicised in August. At the moment, we are only half way through August so there is still plenty of time to hear about Season 6 being released this November. In fact, for many sitcom releases two months is the standard time between the press release and release date.
