Default Alice annoyed me in the ep-"Young at Heart" because of how sensitive she was

when Ralph was making fun of her for wanting to go to an amusement park. Ralph was just playing aroundsaying-"Look I'm 13 and also said-"Maybe we should go to the junior prom". All of a sudden Alice is in a bad mood and storms inside the MYSTERY room. Now she always made jokes about Ralph's Weight but did Ralph ever get BOTHERED? NO, but she was the one who couldn't take the jokes about wanting to go to an amusement park. That's a WOMAN for you-lol

Default actually....

...Alice let Ralph have it about ridiculing her idea of going to the amusement park
in the same fervor when she scolded him for belittling Carlos Sanchez and his "fancy manners"....and she had every right to be angry with him for doing so.
Alice isn't annoying- she's the "bedrock" of the family, the one who KNOWS that "crazy scheme" Ralph is investing their hard-earned money into is going to be yet another mistake....or when she KNOWS she's right, and shows him how stupid or outrageous his attitude really is.

I guess it annoyed me because Ralph never was bothered by her wisecracks about his weight but she gets all sensitive when it was RALPH"S turn to be the jokester

Ralph would sometimes be annoyed with her wisecracks about his weight... he'd pull one of his 'bang-zooms' And he would get annoyed with her if she didn't jump right in with her support for one of his hair-brained schemes...

He would sometimes 'threaten' her... I don't remember the comment that brought this on, but in "The Golfer", Alice said something to him and then left the room... Ralph walks after her (crazy outfit and all) with the golf club and says "How'd ya like to go sailing over the clubhouse, huh Alice?"

None of his "threats" were serious, of course.

Yeah, Alice was constantly teasing Ralph about his weight and I don't remember him being bothered by that. I liked Ralph, but Alice did a lot of things that bugged me. There was a lot about Alice I didn't like. I don't like the way she allowed her mother to ridicule and show rudeness towards Ralph either. That's just wrong. Ralph is her husband and she should stick up for him.

Ah yes, I see what you mean... and you're right... Ralph's feelings were never hurt by Alice's comments in the way that her feelings were hurt in the Young at Heart episode...

When he asked her-"You think you are 14 years old? That's exactly how old she was acting when she stormed in the bedroom after Ralph said-"Look at me i'm 13"-lol
