BEST SOFTWARE TO REAUTHOR A PROBLEM DVD-R - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

hi i have aporblem with a dvd-r i cant rip with dvd shrink or decrytor both have errors. is there a software that can redo the dvd-r , because the dvd plays fine it just wont copy. can someone help thanks

Your computer drive is the problem, not software. It is unable to read the disc as good as your player can. You'll need to try another drive.

Sometimes it's the drive & sometimes it's the software. The one thing about copying very many DVDs is that you need alot of tools. One tool (be it hardware (drive) or software) does not cut the mustard. I've got some discs that play just fine, but DVDclone won't copy from either a Panasonic or BenQ drive. Sometimes AOA 1:1 will copy those. If the disc plays fine in your standalone, you could try using other software to copy it or (as a last resort), play in on dvd recorder & record on another dvd recorder (if you have one.) Yup. I've done this before as a last resort.

some discs are just like that for some reason

i have some discs that wont dupe at all on the computer but work fine in a duplicator
some that wont dupe in any duplicator but work fine on the computer
it happens sometime with no rhyme or reason

agreed, I have 4 dvd-rw drives and if a disc fails in one then I try another, if it fails in all 4 the chances are the disk itself is bad or the information on it is bad. (recorded with errors) Which is why I do not like duplicators, no offense to anyone that has one, but if a disk will not play in your computer and it will in a duplicator, that means most likely the corrupt information is also getting duplicated and transferred to the recorded disk as it is. Personally I use CloneDVD to make my copies, it takes about 15 minutes per disk @ 8x and if there is an error it will find it. On a few occasions I have fell back on DVDShrink to seperate the VOB files to find the bad one...in those cases if I am lucky enough, I simply rip the episodes and re-author.
