Dinner with the president? Recently George Bush was in Miami and wanted to talk some football and have dinner with some football guys. So he invited Dan marino and The Miami Dolphins coach was invited but he said he can;t go because he has a lot of work to do since training camp just started-lol Is there anything wrong with that? I don't think it is

Nothing wrong with that at all.
If he goes and the Dolphins have a bad year the media will then say that he wasn't focused as a coach and that he didn't have his priorities straight in the beginning of the season. Looks like he does have them in order. |

I don't see the big deal either way. It is only dinner and it was in Miami. It is not like he would've had to travel to D.C. or anything. On the other hand, right now his focus is on training camp, so I guess he is at least focused.

In reality it would be no big deal, but I can just imagine the way the press would turn things around if the Dolphins struggle.
Not to hard to picture someone saying, "well if he wasn't out schmoozing with the President and God knows who else, instead of focusing on the team and this season, maybe this wouldn't be happening" One dinner for a few hours, of course, is nothing in the big picture though. |

I voted for Kerry, and I wouldn't turn down a dinner with the president. Not a lot of people get to do that.
If Saban didn't want to, whats the big deal, if it be for football reasons, or for other reasons. |
