I just went to the website which now reads, "We Are Closed." I did read somewhere that after the hurricane business was not good and Harry was seriously considering moving. After reading this, I guess it may have been true. If I discover any other information, I'll pass it along. That's too bad.

Yes Harry is moving out of New Orleans and out of Louisanna I dont where he will be moving or living at yet. He just need some income $$$ to support. So his club is not doing good becasue of no vistors & $$$ not coming in so his club is closed. I dont blame him moving out. I wish him best of luck. Keep your fan in touch Harry!!!

I just went to the IMDB entry for Harry Anderson and looked at the message board there to see if there is any news about his club. Someone posted a link to an article about Harry as being one of the five people featured in a recently published book written by New Orleans resident Robert Smallwood, titled "The Five People You Meet in Hell: Surviving Katrina.” The damage from Katrina and its impact on the state's tourism was enough for Harry to close down his nightclub and move out of state.
The article on the book can be read at http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/8/prweb418746.htm -Makoto_4 |

I read some forum posts from a Genii Magazine web site. (I found it surfing the net.) According to some people on that board, Harry is moving to North Carolina, because there is family there. He does have many plans in the works and will speak in due time about his departure out of New Orleans. Someone also said that he is still going to keep a residence in New Orleans though. If I find the site (I wrote it down somewhere.), I'll post it for you. That's all I found so far. If I come across anything else, I'll pass it along.

I don't think he was scared out of New Orleans. He stayed there for almost a year after running town meetings at his club while doing what he could during the recovery effort. I just think, like many other businesses, he needed to close and relocate because there was very little if any income being made due to lack of tourism. Tourism is a big business in New Orleans and without out it, the city becomes financially strapped. I still can't believe Harry stayed in New Orleans during the hurricane. He didn't want to leave, so he rode out the storm. Also, I guess the politics in New Orleans, from what I've read, isn't desirable. So, I say...more power to Harry for staying as long as he did (I would have left much sooner.) and good luck to him! |

Very sad indeed... the future doesn't look promising for a city that was once of the the liveliest cities in the US...
