Default I need some help/advice

Hey. I need some advice. This is kinda hard to say it but here goes.

Everytime I meet someone/group of people online whether its IM or chat rooms, I always try to make an impression by being gross/perverted. I always think that people with think im funny or cool but i've caused quite a few annoyances and quite a few people to call me a sicko. Gawd, i need some help? Why am I like this??? Why do I try to act so sick to be cool? Please give me some help. Maybe I need a psychiatrist.

Does anybody else have/or had this problem?

ok this is just my opinion. i think a first impression that someone is a pervert will turn people away from you, and that most people online will not want to meet someone and get the impression they are a pervert. i think it's good to make a good/positive first impression and if you are going to act perverted, that could be after you have already made a good impression. but cool and perverted are not synonymous and you won't look cool acting gross.

I'm not sure if you need a psychiatrist. I think the thing is, you want people to like you, and you feel that acting perverted will amuse them, and that they'll get along with you.

It's natural to want to create a good impression and have people like you, but acting perverted isn't the way to go about it, as has been proved. I'd advise you to just be your normal self, or try to find some common interests with the people you're chatting with.

I don't really have any advice, LOL...However, I do think you should be yourself. If you have to try to impress people because you think they won't like who you really are, then seriously dude, they're not worth your time...Be yourself. If they don't like it, Oh F***ing well.

PS: Aren't we all Perv's anyway?

Just a side note, a psychiatrist is a doctor who prescribes medicine, and a psychologist is a therapist who provides counseling. Psychiatrists are usually MDs and Psychologists have PhDs in Psychology.

Sorry, I just felt I had to say that lol. I know it was out of context.
And you've never seemed like a perv when I've talked to you!
Just be yourself, and if people don't like that, then they suck, because you are an amazing person!

You're a 17-year-old male. It's only natural that sometimes your hormones will get the best of you, sometimes causing you to say things you normally wouldn't in mixed company.

You're not a "pervert" or a "sicko;" you're a healthy teenager.

When those kind of emotions are in overdrive, you just have to concentrate extra hard to keep conversation on a more appropriate basis.

Maybe it's a subconscious way of trying to get noticed; making yourself stand out among other people. Whether the reaction to it is laughter or disgust, it gets attention nontheless. If it bothers you, tone down the "gross factor' and try to stand out by being funny-- girls love that in a guy!

Hey Travis. I talk to you sometimes on AIM and I have to say, I never had any problems. You have never been anything but nice to me.

As for the perverted comments you may make to others, I must say that might not be the best thing to do. I know when I talk to males online and they say stuff like that, I immediately stop talking to them. I don't talk to people online for sexy remarks. I like to hear nice words.

Best advice is be yourself. Unless you act like a total jerk, people will accept you for who you are. I have 2 teenaged sons and I am constantly trying to teach this to them. Peer pressure will tempt you to try to be someone you are not. Just be yourself and everything will be cool! Trust me on this one. I've lived through this as a kid too.
