I wonder why There was no Benson Marathon on TV LAND - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

last night? Not a Good Sign. First it's moved to Friday from Monday and now it's not on AT ALL

I'm hoping it was an accidental screw-up (I mean, who'd show "Top Gun" twice in a 4 hr span purposely??). But I'm doubtful of that because with TV when these things happen they are almost never accidents.

If I had a direct number i would just tell the head of programming at TV LAND to remove Benson for good. I'm never going to see it at 3am

I'm not either but I am going to tape the episodes I don't have. I can't even do that if they're not airing it at all, so I have to disagree with you there.

An encore? That's amazing to me. Most people, judging by the message boards there, aren't even watching the first airing, let alone an encore.

I was wondering that too. I was worried TV Land had ditched it.

When I sat down to watch Benson yesterday, they showed an encore of Top Gun.

I got mad my self,I had set my Tivo to record Benson and what did I get, Top Gun. Any way I was still up and saw that there was a problem so I checked my DIRECTV guide and it still showed Benson programmed for that time. Looks like TV land's not a very professionally run outfit to me.They don't even tell DIRECTV and Tivo when they change some thing,they just don't care. My Tivo guide does show Benson to be back on next Friday night. That's if TV land doesn't do any thing stupid at the last moment.

The Benson Matathon will be on TWICE in August. Two Fridays, August 4th, and August 18th

so TVLand now thinks that its more important to show encore presentations of crappy 80's movies that no one wants to see in the first place?

Reminds me of MTV. Totally getting far away from the purpose of the channel in the first place. Keep venturing into all these areas and totally forget your identity and purpose in the first place!

Benson will be coming on a lot of local channels this fall, via the Program Exchange. So be on the look out. 227, Gimme a Break also will on much more on locals this fall.
