anyone notice in today's (7/27) episode about the abducted baby, the same music from the Baskin children update was played during the discussion of the other missing babies? It was freaky to hear that music again....

Speaking of UM's update music, I've noticed recently that part of the beginning music of the PSS is really what UM used as the update music later.

Yeah, I noticed the song immediately and kept telling my mom, "This is the music! This is the ultimate!"
That music rules. It adds about 10 levels of scary, though. |

I personally like the music UM uses when I'm watching the Canadian UFO segment on one of the UFO DVDs while filming 'Guardian' typing his name on the type writer.....now that's freaky! lol
Guardian was the mysterious informant who sent in the tape to a UFO investigator in the States from Canada. |

I remember one time I heard the update music and, without thinking, ran out of the room.

That brings back memories of when I was about eight (1989) and thought UM was the scariest thing on earth.

Who composes the UM music, and do any musicians know what kind of drum/rhythm sequencers and keyboard/synthesizers are used?

Creepy music....I'd like to own a UM Soundtrack with all the loops ever played on UM on CD. Now that would be cool!

I have the NBC CD with about 50 different theme songs, and UM is one of them (the classic, extended version).
A CD soundtrack sounds like a great project. |

I've got one of the update themes....I think it's the "first" theme, from 1988 or so.

The first is 'heavy', like the show them song itself, the second has more synth in it or something. I can't demonstrate it here, but there were definetely a few types of update theme music and they ALL scared me when I was a kid. lol But, I would definetely buy a UM Soundtrack CD with all the loops if they ever came out with one. |
