Who remembers the cartoon show The Osmonds? Produced by Rankin-Bass, the same company that gave us the cartoon version of The Jackson Five, the real life Osmond Brothers lent their voices as the cartoon group was sent on a goodwill tour by the US Music Commitee. The only non-Osmond regular voice was voiceover veteran Paul Frees as their dog, Fuji.

The Osmonds ran on ABC from 1971 to 1972 on Saturday mornings before moving to Sunday morning reruns the following season.

Yes, I remember it. So does Donny Osmond. In Rick Goldschmidt's book, "THE
ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS," Donny recalls that the show "was
really quite a fascinating experience for me. As a teenager, I always watched
cartoons, but I never really knew how they were done. ... I vividly remember
the presence of Paul Frees in the recording studio with us. ... I was completely
in awe of the talents of this man."

Donny goes on to say, "At the time we did the series, I wasn't aware of the
impact that it would have on our fans. There were only seventeen shows
produced ... The series was a lot of fun to record, but it is even more fun
when people come up to me today, years and years later, and remember the
series with fondness. I actually own the rights to the series and would one
day like to put it out on home video. As far as I'm concerned, I think Rankin/Bass did a lot for THE OSMONDS, particularly for people remembering
us from the Seventies."
