Yes! Another UM fugitive has been caught!
The man's name is Kenneth A. Frank. He was the Bakerfield, CA doctor who was accused of a 1986 rape. He fled in 1990 while awaiting a post-conviction sentencing hearing. He has been found and arrested in Israel. Extradition hearings are on the way. http://www.kget.com/news/local/story...D-BBC469D39B8D |

Glad to see this guy got caught. I am sure he will be sentenced not only for the rape but also for jumping bail as well. Does anyone know how many years he is looking at? He will be sentenced according to guidelines from over 15 years ago so I am sure that it wont be as severe as it would be if he got sentenced for modern guidelines.

I've always found this case quite disturbing. To drug an unassuming young woman like that and then saying they had a good time!

Since UMfan isn't here right now, I don't think... and I'm here..
I believe the girls are Ashely Freeman and her friend Lauria Bible. They were abducted at a sleep over at Ashley's house, celebrating Ashley's birthday. They were both about 16 years old. The Freeman parents were murdered with a shot gun, their trailer home was set on fire, and the girls were never found. One of the girl's purses (Lauria's?) was found on the scene with $200 cash in it, so robbery was kind of ruled out as a motive. Mr. Freeman's son had stolen a car previously and been killed by the police. There were hard feelings between the police and the Freemans. Not long before the murders, arson, and abductions happened, Mr. Freeman had told his brother that if anything strange should ever happen to him, look into the police being involved because they were out to get him. Also, there was speculation that Mr. Freeman was a small time drug dealer and this crime could have been connected to those dealings. At one point, they even considered that the two girls may have killed Ashley's parents and then fled. But all the cars were still at the home, and so was all the money, a few hundred dollars. Theory made no sense at all. Why wouldn't the girls take their money and a car to escape, if they were in fact, the killers? After the police and firemen cleared the burned out home, finding only one deceased victim, Lauria's parents went to the scene to see if they could find any clues about their daughter's fate. The police were leaning toward the theory that Mr. Freeman had killed his wife and ran off with the two girls. Well, horrifically, Mr. and Mrs. Bible found Mr. Freeman's charred body in the burned out house, after they had been assured that all the bodies had been recovered. I'm going to hunt around the web now to make sure that I haven't gotten any of my facts messed up. Here's the link to their story on the official UM site: http://www.unsolved.com/ajaxfiles/mis_lauria_bible.htm |

WOW, that's shocking. How can two girls just disappear after a house fire?
Their bodies never being found is surprising. Anyway, thanks for the info. Much appreciated. It sucks when killers get away with kidnapping and murder.

Hello, I'm here! Yeah, the Freeman/Bible case is very puzzling, to say the least. Personally, I find it odd that the girls weren't murdered too, but it's obvious they were abducted. First of all, Laura's car was found still parked by the trailerhome and second of all, her purse (with a lot of money in it) was found in the rubble.

Just curious, how did this thread jump from the Kenneth Frank case to the Ashley Freeman/Lauria Bible case?

Someone asked who were the girls in UMfan's avie and I explained it, but now that post (or question) isn't there anymore. Could be that there was a reference to You Know Where Tube in the post where the question was asked, and it had to be pulled, idk... |

Oh, okay. It makes sense now. I had a feeling there was a missing post somewhere that makes it look like a non-sequitur.
