What's up with these jokes in season 1 ? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I recently bought season 1 (see other topic "purchasing...") so i was able to see these episodes in their original form at last (not dubbed) which is cool. I've noticed there are recurrent "transplant" jokes : brain transplant, skin transplant, cheek transplant... Was anyone else surprised by those lines, wasn't it a bit too much considering Gary Coleman's condition at the time ? It means he could make fun of it rather than the opposite, but again, it's weird...

considering garys health at the time i think they should have layed off on the transplant jokes
