has anyone here read The Hobbit, and if so, is it good? don't give away the ending thought becuase I hafta read it for school. But I have some friends who HATED it and then some who LOVED it, so I was just wondering what your thoughts were.

I read it WAY BACK WHEN, and then I have read it recently. I also owned the cartoon movie from back then. At that time I did not like the series and or the movies. Not because it was bad, but because I have some mean older siblings who played a particular scene over nd over again.

I read it again recently in a college english course I was taking. I was NOT looking forward to it, but once I got into the story, I realized that it is a pretty good story.
