Oh No Do U think a person who gets raped, SHOULD know they are, especially if it's by their

own doctor????

Someone stated he feels that a rape victim, even when being examined by a doctor who ends up raping his patient, SHOULD KNOW if she is being raped, that it is impossible for her not to know. One reason why is because of the position the doctor asked his patient to put herself on the exam table. Second, she should know what is going on "down there"...third, because his wife said IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Apparently what is being stated is that the victim should have known she was being raped.
What many don't know is that sometimes it is possible for a victim to NOT KNOW what is occurring...she may seriously believe her doctor is giving her an exam and doesn't realize until after that he raped her, whether with his body part, his hands or an object.
I have read many stories where rape victims spoke up and they stated they thought something was wrong with how their doctor was examining them, but because the person is a doctor, they don't question it.
It is possible that a victim DOES KNOW what is occurring but is too afraid or shocked to respond.
I don't know abt the rest of you, but being a victim of sexual molestation and a near rape, I don't find that piece of information very amusing, or whatever. Rape victims come in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Rapists come in all forms, men, women, teens, color of authority, different backgrounds...and most importantly rape is not done in the manner that soooo many people are "accustomed" to hearing abt.

What are your thoughts?

Maybe its too early in the morning for me but I find the wording confusing.

Are you referring to the exam after a rape as an equivalent to rape itself?

My feelings on rape in general is that the perpetraitor should be castrated, obiously there would be exceptions but for the most part I would put rapists in the same category of scum as traitors and serial killers

Sorry, it was early in the morning for me also when I made this thread. I am referring to the fact that a RAPE VICTIM should know when a rape is occurring to her.

A rape victim should know she is being raped by her doctor when he rapes her during an "exam"...that it is IMPOSSIBLE for her to NOT KNOW SHE IS BEING RAPED.

For the most part I would agree with that statement, i would find it hard under normal circumstances for someone to not know.

However there are occasions where Dr's/Dentists have used anti anxiety medication "for the patients nerves" which does impair their reality/judgement. Those predators deserve a public stoning as we put our trust and faith in them.

I respect your honest opinion. thank you.

However, I simply have to object since there are so many people (especially women) who have been raped by their doctors and they don't know simply because rape isn't always a stranger in the night who breaks into your home and threatens you and degrades you and puts a gun or knife to your throat.

Again I think I misread.

If you are referring to Doctors taking advantage of people (i.e. unnecessary examinations) and preying on naiveity of people who trust them then I agree with you. Doctors are put in a position of the utmost trust and those that betray that are scum
