Default Orson Welles on Merv Griffin on 10/10/85 - Died hours later

I just read a book that told how Orson Welles appeared as a guest on Merv Griffin on October 10, 1985. Welles was an amateur magician all his life, so he performed magic tricks for the audience.

After the appearance, he went for dinner with a friend (and fellow guest that day), went home and died of a heart attack. He was found in bed with his typewriter the following morning. He was always working and typing screenplays, etc.

Merv Griffin aired the interview days later.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen this performance? I'm not looking to trade as I have nothing to trade. Unless someone wants a copy of my wedding video, lol.

This is probably not news to the experts on vintage tv here at the Trading Post, but it certainly is news to me.

I would love to see that interview myself. I am willing to trade for it. Anybody have it? If not anybody have screen caps of it?

Does the wedding video include some honeymoon shots.? I could be tempted to look around.

I recall watching the Merv Griffin show with his appearance. I wish I had recorded it. I can vaguely remember the show.

I'll have to check my box set that I received as a gift....It lists Orson
Welles on there so I'll see if I can figure out what year it's from!
If it's the right appearance, they have the set at Target!
