Not sure if there are any other die-hard Bewitched fans out there, but there must be, so I thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to the house/set in which the show took place. I always loved that house, and dreamed of living in it as a little girl.
As far as the kitchen goes, do any of you know what make (manufacturer) that oven that Samantha used was? It opened in an upward position, and I always wondered what make it was.

Have you ever visited http://www.1164.com? Has lots of stuff about Samantha's house.

The stove is my absolute favorite thing in Sam's kitchen! IIRC, that model was first introduced at the Seattle World's Fair. I think Westinghouse was the brand. Here is a picture of a similar stove made by Tappan:

Hi octobereve,
Yes, I have seen that 1164 site, and truly enjoyed all the photos and info!
The photo you are showing above definitely is quite similar to that oven, isn't it?
So you think it was a Westinghouse, eh? I always wondered what make it was.
It just seemed so fascinating to me, as I am so used to ovens opening in a downward motion. Thanks for sharing that photo.

Those stoves are so cool IMO, with the side-by-side upper ovens and the cooktop that slides in and out like a drawer.

I wouldn't mind living in a replica of the house, with the exact same rooms setup as in the show.

Me, too. Great layout and I could move in and not change a thing as long it was the original furnishings from seasons 1 and 2.

Default Funny you should mention the house....

...in an issue of "V LIFE" (from the same publisher who brings you "VARIETY") last year, they had a picture of the house as it stands today on the "Warner Ranch" [formerly the "Columbia Ranch", where their "sitcom streets" were located for outdoor filming]. It's a bit different from when I see it on TV, but it's still there!

I'd love to take a tour of the Warner Ranch, it doesn't look that far from Universal Studios.

Yes, I would like to do that, too. And not just for the Bewitched house. So many of those houses and buildings are recognizable. Just recently there was a Dunkin Donuts commercial showing people going about their busy lives and I could immediately tell that it was filmed at The Ranch--The Donna Reed/Dennis the Menace house, the Boston buildings, and the park. My hubby thought I was a freak cuz I recognized everything.

I have just watched the last episode featured on the Step by Step best of dvd and was surprised to see that it featured the Bewitched house. Looks good with a few modern tweaks. I often wonder if they use the house on purpose because it is such an icon. It is like have an un-named guest star.

Hi,
I am new here have only just stumbled across this www site after years of looking on the internet.

I loved Bewitched and always wondered if there are other people out there who thought the same way as me (or just alone in liking everything about that great program).

I loved watching it as a child and now relieve those great times on DVD.
I agree with the posts, and would love to have and live in a house just like the Stephens' (series 1& 2).

I loved that cooker also, and have always wondered who made them.
My wife thinks that I was born in the wrong era because I prefer a lot of things the way they were.

If i ever feel down or need to escape to a place where the real world should be I sometimes watch a few episodes, and everything is rosie again.

Welcome abewitchedlife! I've been told by my family that I was born in the wrong era too! I like old things like hats and the suits, things were more classy back then.

Count me in as another one who has been told that I was born in the wrong decade!! I would've loved to live in Samantha and Darrin's house. I love the layout, especially the living room/dining room/foyer. Then there's the fireplace and the nice patio...love it!!

I hated the shag pile rug/carpet they had in the final few seasons in the living room.

You're right, and remember those obviously fake kitchen stairs added in the Dick Sargent years?? The house definitely looked the best during the first few seasons.
