Clerks II - Anyone seen it, or plan to? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I loved the original Clerks when it came out in 1994.

I have been a fan of Kevin Smith ever since, even though some of his work is uneven, I enjoy his films.

I am going to see Clerks II as soon as I can, I don't expect it to be great but I'm sure I will like it.

Anyone seen it?

I am torn on this movie. I loved Clerks, but this movie maybe a little too Hollywood. I mean Rosario Dawson...oh brother!

I was a Kevin Smith fanboy back in the day, bigtime. Still am, to an extent, but my love for his movies has sort of waned in recent years.

That said, I did see Clerks II last week. While I loved the movie, I thought that it could have been much better. There were some things there that, while funny, seemed only to be there for the sole purpose of shock value.

If some of those elements were removed (or at least toned down), it could have been as good as the first Clerks.

Still, I'm glad I went. In fact, I might go again before it leaves the theatres just to catch things I missed on opening night due to the audience's uproarious laughter.

I can't believe I still haven't seen Clerks II yet.
(actually went to the movies on Friday but it was not my choice)
It shall be done within the next 2 weeks, such is my life.

Just don't go in expecting a movie as good as Clerks. Expect a movie on the level of Mallrats with a lot of the charm of the first Clerks, sprinkled with a little bit of Chasing Amy sentimentality, and your expectations will be exceeded. You will enjoy the movie.
