Default Even though Michael was out of line for being in Wanda's business, I will admit that

Wanda left it wide open for Michael to say-"You still go out on Dates? After Wanda said she needed the candles for a Candle Light Dinner-lol Michael knew it was something wrong with that story about have a romantic dinner

Why did it take Wanda to ask for the candles for Willona to mention to everyone that she was flat broke?

She first had to show off her new "duds", those recession rags. Besides, I am sure that is why she was there in the Evans apt. to begin with. She was going to tell the family but Flo mentioned it first. Like Willona said, "I got the inside scoop."

Because she had just came from being mugged so when she first entered the Evans Apt it was to tell them how she was robbed. So I guess when she saw Wanda asking for the candles it triggered the story about her being broke

She made a joke out of everything in seasons 1-3, she was truly the Female J.J-lol For example after being mugged she says this to Thlema

Willona: I saw him pointing the gun at me?

Thelma: Did you do what he asked Willona?

Willona: Girl are you crazy? When a dude points a gun at me I gift wrap the Cash Register

lol

What are you saying? A older woman can't have a romantic dinner date with a man?

Let me clarify, I think Solomon is saying from Michael's point of view (a child's) that a person that age would not normally be out on dates. even though it does occur, Michael was not used to seeing or hearing that. even though she was lying, it still was a shock to Michael to hear a 70ish woman talking abt "candlelight dinners"...LOL

i thought that too, but i reread Solomon's post and he stated, "Wanda left it wide open for Michael to ask..." which tells me, from his point of view. Children can be very blunt and when they hear something, it is only out of curiosity that they may ask a very personal and annoying question.
