Question How often does your family eat dinner together?

I've always considered myself fortunate that I had a stay-at-home mother. I have such fond memories of homecooked dinners with my parents and siblings.

Of course, that was another era, and two paychecks are usually needed these days...cutting into family time.

Does your family manage to eat dinner together these days?

Sadly, no we don't. My wife is a stay at home mother, but I work late into the night, so I miss the meals with them. As a matter of fact, I'm still at work now.

Being able to run a business from home allows me to make dinner or grab something to eat for our family to eat. They love the way I make a big dinner. At times, I may have a hectic day or get caught up in work, but still, I make sure there is something for them to eat, whether I make it or I buy it.

every single night that we can. ever since i was a toddler it has ALWAYS been my very least favorite part of the day. i seriously dread the sound of dishes being placed on the table because i know that i'm minutes away from having to spend a half an hour being with my dad while listening to the crappy music he puts on and eating the nasty **** he cooks for us. actually, i hardly even eat it. i always wait until he's done and has left the room and then i throw it down the disposal. i don't even care.

oh and if i eat anything within like three hours before we have dinner, i get yelled at for ruining my appetite. and if i even slightly mention that i'm not feeling very hungry, i get yelled at and accused of eating too close to dinner. and if i say that i don't like part of the meal, no matter how nicely, i get yelled at and told to shut up about it eat what i'm served. ugh me and my brother hate all of the **** he cooks and we have no choice to eat anything else, or even when we want to eat, and we're seventeen and eighteen. god i hate living in my house.

not too much. Everyone eats at different times of the day so most of the time we don't eat together.

My dad works the graveyard shift so we don't have breakfast together (he doesn't get off untill 8 or 9 in the morning)
My mom and dad sleep untill 2 or 3 in the afternoon so there's lunch

My brother is always outside in the evenings so we don't eat dinner together.

I'm honestly glad we don't. It would be too weird. We're not a touchy feely family or anything. Really we're just 4 room mates living together.

Only on holidays, sadly. Our family runs on different schedules--my Mom works until 6 and usually has to take my brothers all over the place, so dinner will be something quick and convenient if she even cooks at all. Most of the time we just fend for ourselves. Plus, my Dad works late and can't join us either.

Every now and then. We used to every night, but ever since my sisters and I got older, we've had too much to do. We try to eat together at least once a week, but it doesn't always work out.

The occasional holiday or family birthday is when I sit at the table with my immediate family.

well my family eats alot together. When I went to school it was twice a day breakfest and supper but during the summer sometimes it's every meal it depends on when we would get up in the mornings and if my dad would come home from work at noon. You see my mom works nites so she is home during the day and I work evenings part-time so we usually have one or two meals together everyday.

At home, we usually only eat together on holidays, but even then everyone comes at different time throughout the day so we don't really eat together then.

Usually, my mom is at work until 10 pm. (But thankfully right now she gets off at 2, so she takes me out to eat then!)
My dad leaves around 10 am and he's always has to go someplace (he owns a auto repair shop, and he buys and sells houses.) so he never gets hom til it's almost midnight.
My brother Josh leaves around 7:30 and gets off work at 6, but he doesn't come home til around 2 am. And on the weekends he doesn't come home at all.
My other two brothers, Mikey and Darrell, don't live here anymore, lol.
Because of all this, I usually have to make a sandwich, frozen pizza, or Ramen Noodles for my dinner. It gets kind of old, lol.

So really the only time we eat together is if we plan it the day before and all got to a sit-down restaraunt.
