Question Summer or Winter Olympics?

Which do you like better if any?

I've always liked the Summer Olympics better. Swimming, Diving, Baseball, Wrestling, Gymnastics and now Ping Pong. Can the Olympics get any better? Next, it'll be frisbee!

And for the record, I'm not making fun of frisbee. I think it'd actually be pretty cool.

Well, it depends really. The 1996 Summer Olympics are probably the best I've ever seen. Gosh, who doesn't smile at the memory of little Kerry Strug nail that landing( with a sprained ankle, no less!). I mean, yeah, after that she got pretty annoying with all the press attention, but that one moment...and of course, gold medal glory. One of the best sports moments I've ever experienced.
But then again, the 98 Winter Olympics were WAY better that the 00 Summer Olympics. Much better...

I like both of them but maybe the Winter Olympics a little more. I like watching ice skating and skiing and others.

I agree 96 was great. As for the Nagano Olympics in Japan(98), I never really liked them. I also never saw them much--CBS doesn't have the comprehensive coverage like NBC does. 2000 was decent though. Overall, I always like the Olympics better when they're in the USA but them again I guess I'm a bit partial since I live here.

Lorelai: Yeah, that's not the point.
Max: Well, that's got to be part of the point if there's no band any more.

I like them both. I think I like the Winter Olympics better.
This year was a good year for the summer olympics so i kinda am more for them. I mean i like it when they are NBC and when the winter are on CBS. I think NBC does great coverage of the Olympics. Having them and info on all three of its networks. The little symbols they used this year were cool. I guess i kinda enjoy summer more. I cant really choose. I wish NBC would show more of hte littler competitions as well.

I would really LOVE to go off on a rant here and discuss how crappy the coverage is of both olympics, so you really don't even get to see some of the most exciting competitions. I prefer the Summer Games, because there are so many more sports. But the Winter Games can be pretty exciting too. I'm an avid snowboard fan and always held a pipe dream of the X Games, until I broke my tailbone in February. So now I have to live vicariously through the olympic athletes.

Anyway, I'm psyched for the Winter games. Mr. Coily and I actually tried to volunteer to work the Olympics - he worked at a ski resort for a few years so he has experience operating Ski Lifts. I was going to assist in building out the network to the Internet in the Olympic village. The only drawback was that volunteers were responsible for finding their own housing. We didn't know anyone in Utah, so that nixed that.

Boy, am I chatty tonight!

I'd have to go with the Summer Olympics - I thought the '96 Summer Olympics were awesome, and the 2000 ones were kind of boring...the 2000 ones were there, and then before you knew it, they were over. (Sorry, I'm probably not making any sense!) And they weren't even that interesting...I didn't even pay attention to them that much, but I loved the '96 ones.
