Episode Two: Worst Title Ever - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Have you all heard the title for the new Star Wars movie? It's going to be called Episode Two: Attack of the Clones.

Now of course this is just MHO, but I think that title sucks! It is so....so.... it makes me think of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and all those other cheesy B movies. I heard that originally it was going to be called Clone Wars. I don't think that title is great either, but it is better than the one they chose.

I personally really don't like the direction Lucas seems to be going with this second set of movies. In the first three, the movies were very enjoyable for adults, and at the same time, very accessible for kids. Kids could enjoy the old Star Wars movies, yet they didn't make the adults cringe. I know I cringed more than once in Episode 1. (which is not to say I didn't like it, because I did...it's just that some parts of it I did not like)

It seems almost like for this set of prequels, that he is looking at it through a child's eyes, and trying to aim the movies at children.

Maybe I shouldn't judge this much based soley on Episode 1 and the title for Episode 2, since frankly I don't know anything about Episode 2 other than the title....but....

....what do you all think?

You know, when I first found out about the title yesterday when it was announced, I was like "What!?". I do to, like Bootsy, immediatly think of Attack of the Killer Tomatos.
But you know what, Star Wars is based on those same Saturday serials that Lucas watched as he was a kid. Flash Gordon, War of the Worlds. Yeah, they're cheesy, and silly. But if you think about it, so is Star Wars.

Silly, yes, but it's still good isn't it?
You know, when the film comes out in nine months, the title will be the last of the worries. I'm sure of it.

I have vowed to wait until I see the movie before I pass judgement on the title.

This is the first that I've heard the title. Not my first choice, but oh well. Next May please come!!!!!!!

Actually, I think the title, although not the best one, is pretty good. Anybody remember their star wars history from the original triplogy. I speciaifcally remember the title of this move getting mentioned (especially when descibing the gradual thing from Anakin to Darth)

To clarify:

It IS NOT clone as in Dolly the sheep, it's clone as in, well, the wars mentioned in the orig. star wars.
