Lost in their life? Seriously I have no idea what I want to do with my life. It's bothering the hell out of me that at 21, I have no goals.

Me. I know what I want to do, but I'm kind of stuck in a rut with being in school (which I don't mind, I'm just ready to graduate already) and not having enough money. I hate how everything in the world revolves around money and how it's so misdistributed. If I had enough money to last me a while, I would pick up now and just travel for a few years. Maybe publish a traveling book too. Unfortunetly the real world doesn't work that way and I'm stuck filling my brain with useless knowledge day by day.

I'm in college right now too. Really the only reason I'm there is so that I can stay on my mom's health care plan. Aside from that, I don't know why I'm there. |

![]() I watch all these people may age and younger who have these giant houses and new cars and , and I can't even seem to get a job that pays more that $100 a week. Screw the economy. I can't even afford to drive my own car to work. And ditto on the useless knowledge too. OMG, the money I and my parents must have wasted learning stuff I forgot before the final was even over. What a crock. |

I can't EVER tell my parents how I feel about school, because so much has already been invested into it lol. I mean, I still love my major and plan to practice architecture for a while (which will satisfy me and them since that's where their money went) and I want to get my degree in it so I can say I actually acomplished something in life, but I don't see it as a long life career. I'm hoping to do it for a few years, save up some money, maybe go to some night classes to pad my German minor with and maybe get some sort of work there (either practicing architecture or investing in some good nightclubs). My dream would to be either A) host a weekly travel series around the world B) open up a nightclub, run and manage it or C) become a famous worldwide DJ. But since none of those things will ever happen, I have to think realistically. Which is where my problem is. Nothing is really that appealing to me. Architecture is the only thing I could have ever seen myself major in, but I just don't know about devoting my whole life to it.

That's why winning the Lotto is the only option.
That way, I don't have to subject to this mold of birth-school-work-death but go my own route.

I'm seriously thinking about a trade school in the medical field. Maybe either respitory therapy, or Pharmacy Tech. I'm tired of taking those BS classes in college too. Somehow I doubt I'll ever need a TX Government class in my future career, whatever it is.

I've got some direction, but nothing really solid. I have more than one thing I want to do, problem is I don't know what to make my main profession and which one to make my secondary.
At 21, you still have a couple of more years decide your direction. |

I'm 26...but I feel 18. And I look 21. I think that's part of my problem, odd as that sounds.

Yes, definitely. I don't feel like going to school right now is going to help me with what I want to do in life, the only thing that makes me happy (writing). So I kinda feel lost. I know I need something as a back-up, but I now know that psychology or teaching won't be it for me. I can't imagine doing that for the rest of my life.
So, yea, I'm definitely lost and VERY confused

Crossroads of life, always fun times. I still have some faint doubts now and then, but am quite sure I'm on the right path.
Anyway, I am pursuing a medical profession as a physician assistant. First, I need to complete my bachelor degree in Biology (~3.5 more semesters left) then onto the PA program. Not sure what field I want to specialize in, but I'd love pediatrics. I guess it was inevitable that I took such an interest in medicine considering my mother is a nurse and my stepfather is a physical therapist. Science and medicine always fascinated me. Next summer I need to train as an EMT so I have actual hands-on experience. So that's when things are really going to get interesting. No more textbooks or lectures, I'll be seeing and experencing the real deal. Most of the BS classes for me are out of way. Organic chem 1-2 + lab were my rude awakening. Which reminds me, one of my classmates in the lab section was already a Pharmacy Tech. It was a nice deal because not only was she being paid they also paid a good portion of her tuition and gave her health coverage. Although she is required to devote a certain number of hours to working every week, can't remember what she said exactly. Buckminsterfullerene for life! I'm such a nerd.

I think mostly everybody has gone through what you guys are currently going through. I know I did. When I graduated high school, I didn't want to go to college, so I joined the Navy. After the Navy, I was lost again, I had no idea what to do. I went from one crap job to another. Finally, I decided I wanted to pursue a job in broadcasting and media. My parents thought I was crazy, but college and an internship later, I am doing what I love to do.
