Will "What's Happening Now?" get a DVD release? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It's been a while since WH Season 3 was released. Are there any plans to release WHN on dvd? Does Sony own it? I would love to, at least, see Season 1 released.

Thus far, no one has heard anything. Many of us are waiting on TVLand to start airing the show since they have the rights to it currently.

That would be great! I've seen some the episodes they aired during the marathons but I'd like to see complete seasons. Would be cool if they also showed some episodes from "One In A Million". :tehcool:

TVOne did it a few years ago and I hate I missed it. Hopefully, they may rebroadcast it again. I would make a hell of a perk for the DVD release of Whats Happening Now to include some episodes from One in a Million and by the time season three is released, one would have the entire series (it would work as One in Million was a midseason replacement).

TVOne was supposed to air it, but pulled it from the schedule. I'm not sure why. I hoped that following the release of season 3 of What's Happening, What's Happening Now would come out, but who knows.

That may be highly unlike;y since One in a Million had nothing to do with What's Happening

The show only lasted 13 episodes so it would stale very quickly. While I like that TVOne gives one season wonder shows a second life, they have to be mindful that the show gets stale quicker. I would keep all the one season wonder shows for the weekends or give them one night during the week. They could however do a One in a Million marathon on Saturday.

I would have liked to see this spinoff. Shirley leaves Rob's Place to pursue a career in women's professional wrestling (a lifelong dream). You know she was a fan. Remember the episode when she describes what Hulk Hogan was doing to one of his opponents? Something like this. "He picked him up by his legs and started banging his head on the ground like he was drilling for oil!"

I'm actually surprised that Sony hasn't announced a release date yet. As far as I know, "What's Happening!!" sold relatively well. You would think they would want to capitalize on it and continue with related releases.

Maybe they don't have enough photos to use for coverart. I would think there is stuff in the archives for this. I hope we see a Season 1 release soon.

I just checked Sony's TV-on-DVD site and they have it listed on the new poll. So maybe they are thinking about releasing it. Let's all vote. Here's the link: http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/tvondvd/ Click on the center button where it asks which shows you would like to see next on dvd.
