Arrow Any Christians out there? Please read

Last year my aunt found out she had cancer. The local pastor came over to speak with her and she was really upset. He then told her that if she died she wouldnt go to Heaven because she didnt go to church regularly. Do you think that's true? I dont think he should have said that to her when she was already upset as it was.

What the...? That is the most screwed up thing I have ever heard! Just because you don't go to church doesn't mean you're not a true Christian... I myself think church is unnecessary. Sure, it's a place of worship and praise and everything but it shouldn't define Christianity. I don't even like going to church. I feel uncomfortable when just because your a member of the same church as someone else they come up and hug you even if you've never met them before in your entire life. And trust me, a lot of people who go to church will not get into Heaven.

You know that's like messed up. The bible says don't fail to essemble your self in church and that's something a Chritian has to do. I'm a Christian and I know I have to go to church more but I do go. The way to get to heaven is to repent and say that Jesus has died on the cross, and stuff. I'm not quite sure if I'm telling this correctly but I know. I did repent and say that but still you have to go to church, read the bible, and pray. You are really not a Christian if you don't do those things.

I have faith in god and Jesus and I don't go too church and even if I'm not considered a true christian I still do have faith. And I really SHOULD go too church but no one in my family does, or has since about 1950 either.

I think that you are a Christian if you repent of your sins and truely believe that Jesus is God's son and died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day. And i think you are suppose to go to church to learn more about God, to worship Him, and to learn what He wants us to do. BUT i dont think you are goin' to Hell just cuz you dont do that. Especially if your not able! Like if your sick. And even if you are....you SHOULD go, but i have yet to find anywhere in the Bible that says " If ya dont go to church every Sunday your going to Hell!"

Going to church is not what saves you. Having faith/believing in what i said before is what saves you.

And i have a question for the person that started this topic. What kind of church was that pastor from? I was just wondering.

Teddy: Hey, I'm making you an offer you can't refuse.

Jinny: Look, you know who I am, OK? You know who my family is. Why the hell do you even wanna be with me at all?
Teddy: Because, I love you.

That is so right... it's what you believe that will save you in the end.

The Gospel teaches that we are saved by FAITH , which is a gift of God . Not by what we do.Heaven help those who think they are worthy of this gift! All have sinned and have fallen short. No one deserves to be saved.Jesus has done it all for us and not of ourselves! If we could save ourselves ,who needs Jesus? His death and suffering on the cross was in vain! That is the whole core of the Christian faith.

Well then, if that's true, it looks like I'm not getting into heaven. Darn...
