Default I didn't know Marcy was also on SOAP

I was scanning through an episode of Soap last night spotted Marcy in one of the eps. Did she play a different character on Soap?

Yes, on Soap she was a secretary of Burt's who involved him in an extra-marital affair, if I remember correctly.

I don't know about Soap, but I really liked her on Benson. She had the prettiest smile. Anyone know why she left?

Marcy played a pretty sleazy role in Soap (that wasn't her name in the show, so it was a different character) and is considerably tamer in Benson.

I believe Caroline McWilliams left the show around the time she married Michael Keaton.

You learn something new everyday. I didn't know she was married to Michael Keaton. I guess they were married from 1982 to 1990, and have one son.

Me either

Also I never cared for soap, I couldn't get into it when it was on TVLand.

TV Land aired like episodes 24-40 or something of Soap, hard to follow the show that relies on plots from the previous episode. It has done very well on DVD because people are anxious to see what happens next. I love both Soap and Benson, but Soap gets the slight edge.

Your comments remind me also that Benson had the unfortunate task of living up to its predecessor, Soap. Once a show is popular, spinning off is not as easy as it seems. Not every spinoff show can be a "Frasier" in terms of popularity and acceptance. Although, to be fair, "Frasier" is truly brilliant.

I like both shows, all I said was Soap had the slight edge to me personally. Benson ran longer than Soap by a lot, too, so I guess it can be called a Frasier or a Family Matters, both I think lasted longer by a bit on Cheers and Perfect Strangers.
