Default "Ellen: Season 5" or "The Ellen Show"

Which season do you prefer - the final season of "Ellen" or the single season of her next sitcom "The Ellen Show."

I like how in "The Ellen Show" she's gay but it's not the main focus of the series. It's a shame the show didn't last longer than one season.

my vote is for "The Ellen Show" however I like the entire series of "Ellen" more.

Cool

Well, I have never seen Ellen Seasons 4&5, but I do have Ellen on dvd Seasons 1-3. I also just got, and alomost finished with "The Ellen Show" on dvd. I think "The Ellen Show" is very good, and I can't see why it lasted only 1 season. I also like The Entire "Ellen" series, better than "The Ellen Show", but "The Ellen Show" is good too.

I liked "The Ellen Show" better. I just finished the first disc today. My favorite episode was Missing the Bus.

I have never seen "The Ellen Show" but I really didn't like season 5 of "Ellen" because it didn't have Paige, Spencer and Joe in it much and concentrated on her relationship with that annoying woman.

I agree. The show wasn't really funny anymore, and it was all about Ellen's new orientation. All the other characters were barely in the show anymore.

I don't think The Ellen Show lasted because it was on Friday nights. Not a great night for sitcoms at all. I thought the show was great. Ellen Season 5 is my least favorite, although there are some gems like the Emma episode is very hilarious.

Another reason "The Ellen Show" might not have done too well is timing. It premiered in September of 2001, and I don't think people were in the mood to laugh at much of anything that month. I think a lot of us were still watching the news channels more than anything else. Just a thought.
