Default I made it to a KOQ Taping!!!!

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT ----

Me and my husband flew from Houston to LA for the July 13th taping. We went straight from the airport to Sony Picture Studios.....I could go on forever as to how, in 5 million gazillion ways, this was out of this world. The taping went from about 5 to 9pm. After the show was over, we got a taxi and went back to the airport, got on a 12:30 am flight to Houston, and I was at work by 8am this morning....

It is so freakin wierd --- I am not even tired (and I'm always wanting to take a nap)...

Ok, I'm not going to tell you what the show was about, but it was AWESOME, as in "hell, yeah, they got it going on!!"

Seriously, this show was the first taping of Season 9, and IT WAS OVER THE TOP!!!!

I could talk about this for days, but I know there is one thing all the guys want to know:

YES, YOUR DREAM HAS COME TRUE: CARRIE IS BACK TO HER ORIGINAL "TINY" SELF. So men, start your drooling now...

Good to see that you made it to the 7/13 taping. Can't you at least give us a little hint as to what the episode is about, w/o revealing the plot? The Spencinator wants to know.

Michelle, I am posting some of what you sent me here so the fellow fans can have a glimpse of what your night was like:

They do give autographs at the end of
the show. However, you have to stay "up" in the
audience seating area and wait along a railing. Leah
& Kevin walk down the line, so they're a few feet below
you, and you hand down to them what you want
autographed. I (as in me & Matt) were the last ones
in line. When it came to our turn, I kneeled down and
handed Carrie my script --- I told her I was one of the
many KOQ fans, and I out right asked, if we (as in the
fans), started a petition for a Season 10, would that
be ok with her --- AND SHE SAID YES! And her
expression as she was looking down signing my script
was like an "Oh, yeah, yes."

When KJ came along, I explained the same thing -- KOQ
fan, would it be okay to start a petition for a Season
10..... I AM DEAD SERIOUS WHEN I SAY THIS -- HE WAS
LOOKING RIGHT AT ME AND SAID YES!!!! IT WAS A
YES WITHOUT HESITATION AT ALL!!!!! I told Kevin James
that if I got the "shutty" I would
let it go. I didn't get a shutty, and I was like we
can do a petition for Season 10!!!!

It was so one of those "I'll never forget that moment
ever." Doug was looking up at me (because I was in
the raised audience seating) --- and he was looking at
ME and said YES, and just that he was looking at me
while I was explaining made me feel like "Wow, he's
really listening to me."

That's the hard part!!! Even if I told you what the plot was about, it wouldn't do the story line justice. I mean, only Doug & Carrie can carry it off! If I were to explain it to you, it would come out lame and boring --- but when you see the show on TV, you are going to think it is BILGISTIC!!!!!

Okay, what exact detail do you want specifically. I already told the guys that Carrie is back to her lean self... Do you want to know about the set (you know I love sets), or what Carrie wore? How big Major has gotten? Oh, and I loved watching the people "behind the scenes." It's incredible what they do. And it explains a lot about the "inconsistencies" we see in the show. I know I posted this somewhere, so if it's a repeat, sorry. The example I gave is that there is a picture hanging on the wall in one scene; in another scene you would be able to see the picture through the doorway, so they literally take the picture off the wall in one set and carry it over and hang it in the "hallway" of another set.

Here's the sets I saw, from my right to left --- then there were other sets that were out of view, so we got to watch it on monitors. Also, scenes like driving in the car were pretaped, and we got to see the pretaped parts as well. When they showed us (on the monitors) them driving in the car, you saw the "green" back ground. So starting from the my right: The Senior Center, a gap in the sets that I could not see what was in there, Deacon's apartment (living room & kitchen), then the garage wall from the outside (no set of the inside of the garage -- wow, I would have loved to have seen that!), just a few feet of the area between the garage outside wall and the kitchen wall with the backdoor --- you get to see ALL of the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Just outside the front door was a backdrop of the houses "across the street." When they raised that backdrop, you saw the hallway wall that's right outside of D&C's bedroom, then D&C's bedroom. They did not tape in all of these sets, and those that weren't used, like the dining room, didn't have the table in the right spot. There are 4 cameramen filming at EVERY SCENE, and I think they do a lot of moving around of stuff so the 4 cameramen can get their cameras in to place for the right shot.

So, I'm like, come on and bring in those inconsistencies!!!! I live for them and love them!!!!!

I just want a general idea of what the episode is about. I've read synopsis's before, and yes it doesn't necessarily do the episode justice, but it gives you a general sense of what its about. All I'm asking for is a short little blurb of what it was about similar to the ones that you would find on the main CBS King of Queens site, or the Sony one.

Thanks

I don't know if they "messed up" their lines because to tell you the truth, I'm still just looking at the cover of the script with the autographs!

Yes, they fumble their lines, or forget to hand someone something, or they just didn't like how they did their line and they wanted to do it over.

And I don't know if the writers make changes during the taping, or if Kevin James can do his own ad-lib thing because he's an executive producer, but in one shot, Carrie says, "I'll give you a moon pie" (or something like that). They did the take again and Carrie said the same thing, but this time KJ came back with something like "I'll go have another."

I know, it doesn't sound funny when I say it, but it's HYSTERICAL when KJ does it.
