Property owners are responsible for making sure their property isn't a hazard to others. This includes keeping snow and ice off of areas where people have to walk. If a person gets hurt because of the owner's negligence, then the person should be offered some form of compensation. If the parents were having difficulty keeping their driveway clear, then they could have hired someone to help clear it off. Or the daughter herself could have made sure the ice was cleared.

Stupid. The parents should counter sue her for being a burden on their pocketbook for the first 18 years of her life.

This is true. From a legal standpoint. However, we are talking abt a "family" here. From the story, it sounds like the daughter doesn't know the meaning of what a "family" is. Any child who would sue their parents doesn't deserve much of anything.
I have seen too many people and dealt with too many people who want to sue or "do I have a case" regarding family issues...sick sad world.

The parents should have paid for her medical bill. The girl is probably over exaggerating about the amount of $75,000.00 Sounds like a screwed up family. Plus I get the feeling there was more tension behind just that one incident.
