Post Favorite Frontmen (or women!)

I'm wondering what are people's favorite frontmen or frontwomen of all time?

I personally think a great frontman should not only be a good singer but an interesting performer. And sex appeal certainly doesn't hurt

For those reasons I think I have to say that my all time favorite is Steven Tyler. You've gotta give credit where it's due...I mean for a man old enough to be my father he's got more energy than me and all the right moves. And an interesting if not slightly bizarre fashion sense

For a more down-to-earth choice, I also enjoy Mick Jagger. I would say that he's less energetic than Steven (when I saw him at least) but he is older so....

As for frontwomen....I like Ann and Nancy Wilson who I guess are kind of co-frontwomen. I also like Stevie Nicks. I'm not sure if she qualifies as frontwoman since others in the group sang as well, but I think she is the most famous member of Fleetwood Mac and did the most singing. I also like Gwen Stefani.

I'm surprised you didn't mention David Lee Roth or Axl Rose. Actually when I think about it, I'm usually a fan of the drummer's than the frontmen. Stuart Copeland, Keith Moon, Ringo...they are all cooler than their respective frontmen counterparts.

Bootsy, Heart kicks ass! The Wilson sisters are definitely the best frontwomen ever in rock n roll. There's others of course, like Deborah Harry, Gwen Stefani, Shirley Manson, and heck, even Belinda Carlisle!

My favorite is Bono! He is an awesome performer at his concerts and he has the sexiest voice there is. The man is just so cool that I can't find the words to describe him.

Actually I personally have never much liked David Lee Roth. He's ok. I love Guns N' Roses and I like Axl Rose. But I dunno, for me, I like people who dance around up on stage, and from what I've seen, Axl doesn't do much dancing, at least not as much as the other guys I mentioned. But I have never seen them live, so maybe their videos don't do him justice? I don't know.

Steven Tyler, Axl Rose, David Lee Roth, Steve Perry were all great frontmen. But sometimes you find a good frontman where you don't expect to. Remember Soul Asylum? I caught them playing at a small club about 6 months ago, and their frontman was incredible (david something, can't remember and don't care enough to look it up). He managed to pull me right into the show and I found myself moshing. Quite a feat for me, since most clubs will throw you out for doing it and the Nu-Metal scene killed moshing for us old-folks.

excuse me, were great frontman? Ahem, Tyler's still up on stage shaking his moneymaker, and he's still the best. (In my ever so humble opinion, of course). Just saw him this month in fact, going again later this summer. He may be old but he hasn't lost it just yet.

Interesting about Soul Asylum. Of course I remember them, though I never saw them live.

I like Ozzy too, though I have also never had the chance to see him perform live.

So true what you said about the moshing, and it is quite sad.

SHIRLEY MANSON of GARBAGE!!!!!!!! She's the best singer in the whole wide world! Plus it's awesum that she is the front woman with 3 men backing her up! You don't see that often. She has such a beautiful voice, and the title of their latest c.d. explains it all: "beautifulgarbage."

I also think Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 is awesum as well. So there you have it -- my favorite front man and woman.
