Questions About The My Space Site? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Guys,

Are any of you familiar with www.myspace.com ? This is an online site that allows you to meet people, post blogs, videos, start online communities and modify your user profile. Does anyone know how safe it is? What are the pros and cons to it? A con for me is that it takes forever sometimes to log in and out and for pages to come up. Does anyone know how many people run that site? I am concerned sometimes about viewing profiles. What are the age limits for the site? What do they do to ensure your safety and security online? The security software that I use tells me that the site is safe. But how concerned should one be about that site? They do give some helpful security tips. What are your personal experiances with it if you have used it?

It's only as safe as you make it. If you don't post pictures of yourself naked, you won't get any stalkers.

It's really addicting. I love it.

If you don't use your name, and don't put pics of yourself on there, it's okay. Heck, you can make it private and only people you friend can see it. That's pretty safe.

Big pro for me is finding people I haven't seen in a long time. And I do entirely too many surveys there.

From what I've seen, MySpace is pretty safe. I don't have a (current) pic of me on there, and I don't list my schools or companies or anything like that. Pros are that you can meet new friends and find others w/ a common interest and you can communicate with friends very easily. Cons...I can't really think of any, other than the fact that it IS very addictive, hehe.

Heck, you can make it private and only people you friend can see it. That's pretty safe. Big pro for me is finding people I haven't seen in a long time. And I do entirely too many surveys there.
