Default Unsold Pilots of the 50's, 60's, and 70's

I find this stuff so interesting. Here are just some I stumbled across. Most of these are sitcoms. but not all of them are. Also some might have been on the Movie of the Week. Some might not have even been filmed at all. I really don't know for sure on some though.

Henry D (1960) w. Tex Ritter

Peace in the Family (1967) w. Jack Albertson

Rio (1957) w. Adam West

Three's a Crowd (1967) w. Bill Bixby

Rome Sweet Rome (1968) w. Bill Bixby

The Mouse that Roared (1966) w. Richard Deacon

Zelda (196?) spinoff pilot of Dobie Gillis

Will Banner (1965) w. Steve Forrest

The Yank (1960) w. John McIntire

Doc (1967) w. John McIntire

Manley and the Mob (1967) w. Nehemiah Persoff

The Unpardonables (1966) w. Don Rickles

Guess What I did Today (1968) w. Fred Gwynne

Goober and the Truckers Paradise (197?) w. George Lindsey

The Help (1966) w. Phil Silvers

We'll Take Manhattan (1967) w. Dwayne Hickman

Father of the Bride (1961) w. Jim Backus

The Mighty O (1962) w. Alan Hale

Kilbee Hates Finch (1965) w. Don Rickles

Where's Everett (1967) w. Alan Alda

Sheriff Who (1967) w. John Astin

Sidekicks (1974) w. Larry Hagman

Fear No Evil (1969) w. Caroll O'Connor

Beanes of Boston (1979) w. Charolote Rae

Adams of Eagle Lake (1975) w. Andy Griffith

Ernie Madge and Artie (1974) w. Frank Sutton

The Barbara Eden Show (1973)

Two's Company (1973) w. John Amos

Bobby Jo and the Good Time Band (1973) w. Forrest Tucker

Man in the Middle (1972) w. Van Johnson

CBS had a summer series where they showcased some unsold pilots in a show called "The Vacation Playhouse" I would love to get a hold of one of these.

I am not sure if you know this or not since it is not listed at the IMDB, but I recently found out that Joe Besser guest stared on The Don Rickles Variety Show from 68'.

Three's a Crowd.....not a good show. Too much slapstick and silly plot twists. A little info (in case anyone is interested and doesn't know!). Bill's character's wife (played by Brenda Benet, Bill's future real-life wife/ex-wife) goes missing on their honeymoon (an African Safari of all things). She's presummed dead. He mopes around for awhile and then finds this other women (who was one of those bizarre, hippie types). They marry. OH! But then Brenda shows back up...she's alive! Oops...poor Bill now has 2 wives. He decides not to fess up to either wife, and instead tries to lead a double life with the help of his friend Herb Edlemann. Chaos insues (which you can just imagine). In the pilot, Bill is trying to balance two parties at once (his birthday), which happen to be in the same place, right next to each other (separated by a partition). Each wife gets a tad annoyed at his constant disappearances.

Overacting and pure camp.

I've never heard of Rome Sweet Rome, but I wanna see it!!

I think all of these are from the 80's and 90's but oh well. I got these screen caps from the Best Shows That Never Were.

Norman Lear made the last one. It is called "A Dogs' Life"

She really didn't wear it that many times. Just a few times in the first season.

You should check out the Gilligan's Island board, you will like it.
