Default Too great of a age difference?

Your 20 and he or she is 32. Is the age difference to vast to have a relationship.? Does it change if either sex is the older?

I'm not sure really. I've heard that when there is a big difference in ages between the man and the woman that they tend to have less in common. I guess a lot of it also had to do with who the two people are. I'm not sure if a relationship would really work between a 20 year old and a 32 year old. There would be such a huge difference in the level of maturity.

I agree with you. I truly believe their interests would be to far apart. I don't believe my intersts were the same at 20 as 32. At 20 I was deeply involved in sports, running around, school, little responsibility, living day to day and once I got married there was a period of adjustment. I didn't get married till I was 28 so I had slowed down somewhat. I had a job, planned for the future and thought less of play and more ofwhat the future held.

Well, there's a 14-year age gap between my parents, so it can work.

They met when my mother was 23 and my Dad was 37.

My parents are also friends with a couple who have a 16-year age gap between them.

It depends on two things, if the younger person is mature enough to handle a relationship with in older person and if the older person can handle being with younger person.

As long as the two individuals are over 18, I don't think any age difference is out of bounds. Nobody is going to tell me who I should love!!

It can work with the right people but in most cases it probably wouldn't work.

It's not so much the 12 year age difference, if the people were 40 and 52 I don't think there would be that much trouble. The bigger issue I think would be that at 20 you're still searching for your identity. It would be hard to be in a relationship with someone who's already been through their 20's and figured out who they are.

I'm a hypocrite when it comes to this age-old question. I do believe in the notion of "maturity and individuality over the age number," but I personally tend to have a problem with it when it comes down to me. I don't like too young or too old. Then again, I have my personal reasons over why I don't want it for me. It's too long to just sit and describe in public, so I'll just leave it at that.

I think it could work. You can't really help who you feel for and age shouldn't really matter. Jason and I are 7 years apart, and born in different decades. He was born in 78 and I was born in 85. Really the only difference is some of the music we enjoy. We both love Classical Rock, but he loves the earlier 90s bands and I love the more Now stuff. Not a big deal.

thank you! that is what i always say, age is just a number if you are over 18.

see, my man is 57 and i am 21, that is a 36 year difference, but we both are very mature and we have tons in common. some older/younger relationships work out and some just don't.
