Default The New Detectives

I love this show. It's the show on the Discovery Channel. It's really interesting. Anyone watch it?

I have watched it, yes. I agree, it's an interesting show. It debuted in the 1990s, so it was on before shows like CSI were on the air.

Yes I also enjoy New Detectives. Did anyone else notice when it first aired years ago it had a documentary feel (which I prefer). Then it seemed a year or two ago they changed the filming and it started to remind me of a mini movie. Is it just me or did anyone else notice the change in cinematography a few years into the show?

Wow you guys really got me I had no idea that show had been on since the 1990's wow that's a long time. I actually like this version better since it's really the only version I know of and have seen.

Love this show too. I noticed the change as well.. It seems that after CSI and other such fictional shows came on the air, the True Crime genre felt they needed a way to compete, and so the shows became slicker, better production values, etc.

Personally I liked the way it used to be better, but I like the way it is now too, so they didn't lose me for it, but whenever anything stresses style over substance, I mourn.

Hello, all. I am new to this board, but I am a true crime show addict, and I just found this place and I think I'm in heaven!!! Nothing is as good as finding a group of like minded people in the vast wilderness of cyberspace!

I look forward to many hours spent reading and posting!! Onward!

I prefer the documentary approach of the 1990s and early 2000s.
