Because he would have been a free agent after this season and could have walked. Cleveland sports teams are used to their big name guys leaving all the time.

i was going to say the same thing they need to get it through ther thick skulls that lebron is neven going to win anything for the cavs on his own

I had just assumed he would be staying for a while.

They do need to work on getting the team to work better with him. It is always hard to get a good team effort going on when you have a superstar.

The team made tremendous strides last season. They took Detroit to Game 7. They probably are only a player away from being a contender to win the Eastern Conference. They have most of the pieces.
